    Clutch Problem?

The ASC in my experience only kicks in when the rear tire slips, which it so far has only done on wet surfaces. So in my experience, if you are on dry roads, you can accelerate all-out without ASC interfering. The shop manual I bought is a DVD, not aware of hardcopies being available.

    Clutch Problem?

Let me suggest you do the 'manual deglazing' hack more forcefully/longer/stronger. I noticed the same on my 2016 Sport but only since I started riding long (120 mile plus) fast highway stretches. Next mornings, the clutch would do what you describe: thumps and jumps/catching/slipping. I applied...

    Driveline vibration elimination (hopefully!)

Have not yet taken the step to dismantle the rear axle again to try to replace the bearing. I dread the work a bit due to the press fit, need for blowtorch, freezing axle to fit new bearing etc, but at least the big socket did come in so I can tackle it when I get my courage up. Meanwhile I've...

    Windshield cleaning

My BMW dealer recommended a product called PLEXUS and it really works. It's expensive but you use very little so one can will probably outlast you and/or your bike(s). I also use it regularly to clean and polish my helmet's visor - very important for safety...

Help with messages on the display

Congratulations with your purchase, we look forward to seeing the whole bike! You don't (should not) need any software modifications AFAIK when you mount the stock exhaust back on. To be 100% sure you can look up the installation instructions for the Akrapovich but I seriously doubt a software...

    High beam going out

Many motorcycle riders do ride with their high beams on during the day, on the I405 / I5 that my commute is on. I don't because I don't want to tick off car drivers as I lane split. I did order me a set of those yellow auxiliary lights to give me more visibility but those, too, I will only use...

    High beam going out

I've had to replace my low beam lamp more often than I'd like, within a year last time. But certainly not the high beam as I only very rarely turn that on, it's still the original one I believe. But, if you routinely ride with high beams on then depending on the type of bulbs you buy, I guess it...

    Auxiliary driving lights

Thanks for that - I just placed my (first ever) order on AliExpress and because it was my first, I received a 'welcome gift' and the total cost delivered was only $1.50. I tried ordering two sets but was limited to 1 per order so we'll see how they do and if I like them I will order a second set...

    Auxiliary driving lights

Can you share what you bought Shaun2007? I am considering putting same on my two bikes as I believe they will help with my lane-splitting on the California I-405.

Help with messages on the display

If the picture was taken after the service, the only thing that would make sense is if the service was not done by a BMW dealer, nor by anyone that has the appropriate scanner/software etc to reset the service indicator, so I would just ask the seller who did the service and does s/he have the...

    Is bmw c650gt hot scooter

Congratulations on your decision, I expect you will really enjoy the GT. 9K km (6K miles) is indeed very low!

    IT AIN'T RIGHT

OK I will bite - yes you are both correct, BMW has chosen not to replace the poorly designed tensioner with the better, hydraulic one for reasons that most likely have to do with cost and their estimate of the amount of damage to their brand. I have a 2016 Sport with the old-style mechanical...

    Is bmw c650gt hot scooter

Speaking from experience with a Sport, there is 0 heat coming from the engine/scooter that the rider can feel. When I ride my BMW F800ST, I notice a considerable amount of heat coming from the engine to my legs. Same on my Husaberg supermoto. Then again, none from my Honda S300i scooter.

Who does their own oil changes?

On the subject of leftover fasteners, did you know that in hell there is an unfortunate magician whose task it is to make sure that when a person drops a jam sandwich, it will always land jam-side down. I suspect s/he is also slipping in fasteners when we're not looking whilst tinkering with our...

Who does their own oil changes?

You may want to get one of those flexible snake mini-cameras if you can't visually locate the filter with the help of a flashlight. And if there is any metal to this screen, just maybe a strong magnet-on-a-flexible rod may do the trick as well (although they can be tricky to use, keep away from...

Engine stalling when slowing - test idle control device?

I had an occasional rough/surging idle (only happened twice or three times) and in my case it seems to have been one of the two small idle actuator hoses. The one I replaced was torn and had a fairly significant air leak. So, it seems there are quite a few potential causes for poor...

Motoscan diagnostic error codes 2018 c650gt

The explanation of the different license levels is on the motoscan website, here (English language selectable), at the bottom of the page. EUR 50 for the ultimate version - although I hardly know what to do with all the coding etc features, I figured the extra cost was so low, I got it just in...
