    C650 Cam Chain Tensioner UK

Hi, I know that there was/is a recall for the cam chain tensioner in the North America’s, but has anyone in the UK been successful in getting this done. I have had the same issue on a 2016 model with only 6500 miles on the clock. Had to have the modification done because of excessive cam chain noise at a cost of £800 but BMW do not want to know as it is not a recall in the UK even though it is an identical issue.

Hi there, we are on the same boat, I am in Hong Kong,
My C650GT is 2012 model, cam chain tensioner was replace on 2014 with updated mechanical one.
But there's no 2nd recall for the hydraulic cam chain tensioner (Recall 14V-264) here as well.

It seem a big job to do. Might need to do it my self in the worst scenario.

So, they recalled the early ones with the cheap-ass mechanical tensioner that had a spring that would snap, and replaced it with THE EXACT SAME DESIGN but with a stronger spring that wouldn't break. So then what happens? They wear out prematurely AND STILL FAIL as happened on this forum to Jaime's C650 Gt.

    Way to go, BMW.

My tensioner [2016 Sport] rattled when cold, with 2,000 miles on the clock. I had it replaced under warranty, no cost to me. Now at almist 6,000 miles and all still fine (touch wood).
