Was it worth it? Save $1000 or get the Heated Seat?

    Hey everyone,

I just purchased my new C600 Sport about 2 weeks ago. I love everything about it.

I'm having a "should I have gotten it" moment. The dealer offered me $1000 less for the new showroom model BUT it was ONLY the Heated Grip and TPM option... No heated seat.

I originally was going to go all out and pay full price for the fully loaded package, but was it really worth $1000 for the heated seat? I'm the type of guy that likes to get "top of the line" models... But still couldn't justify the $1000 for the seat. This isn't a financial issue, but should I have done it or was it a wise choice to save the $1000?

I'm upgrading from a Vespa 250cc GTS and usually use a Tucano Apron. I just purchased a Tucano Apron for the C600 as well but I still can do without it for the moment.

Was the heated seats worth that extra $1000? Does the seat really warm you up (w/o any extra accessories like apron, pants, etc?)

I'm in Chicago so our weather situation is a bit like NYC. Maybe a little worse. I don't know how people ride without heated seats and grips. The seat gets hot. Hot enough that I typically wind up having to turn it off at some point. I don't know that it is worth $1000 though as a standalone purchase. I could probably survive without the heated seat, but not without my heated grips. I'm on a c600 and also upgraded from a Vespa 300.

Last winter I didn't use the heat as much as I thought I would.

Of all the cold weather riding I have done over the years, I never had a problem with a cold tush. The seat is a thick piece of insulation as it stands, if you made a jacket with the same thickness of foam, it would be to warm to wear anywhere but on the polar ice caps and only if standing still!!!!

I didn't know they imported any scooters without the heated seat. Are you sure it doesn't have the heated seat? Is there a switch on the side of the rear seat?

I believe that if the C model has the low seat, they leave off the heating.

I have the grip heaters and seat heater on my GT and love it. First time I've every had a heated seat on a bike. Great idea, make me feel much warmer and my legs less stiff riding on a cool day. When it gets down in the lower 30s and mid 20s then I have it all on, heated seat and grips and my Gerbing jacket liner and gloves. Heavenly absolutely the most comfortable cold weather riding I've ever done.
I was lucky getting all the goodies on my GT. I bought it used for 9k with 69 miles on it. Luckily for me the P.O. wanted it all when he bought it. Also lucky for me his HD buddies gave him such a hard time about being on a scooter and it being midwinter he was willing to sell it cheaply so he could buy another oil sieve. (HD)

1k price difference equates to $20 increase on your monthly, not too bad. Heated seat is one of those things that we've all lived without, but once you've got it you'd not want to give it up. Not to mention its a good selling point if you ever decide to let her go.

Clearly you guys that love the heated seat have no body fat, are all muscle, and probably ride naked.

I agree with you on both points BUT the only thing was that $1000 difference was me buying the C600 in full same day. So it wasn't $20/month, it was more of $1000 take it or leave it.

I'm used to riding in cold weather with the Vespa and never needed anything heated, except proper clothing and a Tucano apron, but I just wasn't sure if I lost out on a great investment.
