2400 miles: Louisiana to New Mexico and Colorado

Greetings to all! I just returned from a road trip through Texas, New Mexico and Colorado. Temperatures from 29 to 111. Elevation from near sea level to 14,000 feet. We rode through sun, rain, hail and sleet. All in all the bike ran great! I averaged 54 mpg for 2400 miles and I had a lot of high speed runs through the high plains. My GT is the most comfortable bike I have ever owned. The heated grips and seat came in handy a few times. The storage compartments were perfect. The windshield collected a lot of bugs but cleans up and is still scratch free.
We saw some amazing scenery and it reminded us this country is so beautiful.
I'll attempt to put a few pictures with this post. One is of a deep gorge in New Mexico near Taos. Another is on the road in New Mexico. Another is on the way to the Great Sand Dunes National Park. And the final one is at Pallisades Rock cliffs near Raton, NM.
Enjoy your great bike fellow forum members. If any of you are up for a ride in the Rockies contact me. I would love to return and explore some more of that fantastic countryside.image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg

If I could figure out how to put more pictures on here easier I would. I have to edit them and crop them so they are not too "big"
I'm still marveling over what a great ride our bike is to ride.:)

Your wish is my command...the pic of the Elk was after I almost ran over her. A close call. image.jpgShe bellowed at me as I was taking her picture.image.jpg
