Next week in beautiful Lake George, NY. I'll be there the whole week, and I'll be on Snoopy. Anyone else going? We'll be staying in nearby Lake Luzerne... right by the Painted Pony where the Americade "Dirt Daze" festivities take place.

This year BMW WILL be there with demo bikes. I'll have to try out the 2017 scooters to see the difference the new transmission makes compared to my 2013.

It's Spring in the Adirondacks. it is GOING to rain...

The problem is, none of the manufacturers will let you demo ride in the rain... not even the three-wheelers! Wonder how they think most of the people got to Lake George?

It's raining now. According to the forecast, it should be clearing out by mid week. Fortunately, we rode up here in the sun this morning.

Just saw the BMW display. Looks like alongside the updated C650GT is an eScooter! I wasn't even aware they were selling those here. Conspicuous by its absence is the C650 Sport...

Drove over to Americade yesterday got there a 12 pm, parked on the field at million dollar beach where the vendors are. I. Was very surprised at how few bikes where there on a sunny day. I would say there were about maybe 1000 bikes at most.
I did not go last year because the year before you could see the vendors where shrinking, also it seem it was getting to be more of a Harley rally. Granted Harley is the most popular bike in the US but the metric bikes are a substantial group of bikes. As I walked through the vendor area there was hardly any metric bike dealer oriented booths. I stayed about 1 1/2 hours and left, as I walk back to the parking field a lot of bikes had left, I would say about 300 would be my guess. I remember about 5 to 6 years ago the parking field would have about 5 to 6 thousand bike the whole field would be completely filled. My thoughts are the vendors set up at americade for the rally at Laconia NH next week, and the warrenburg rally 9 miles up Rt 9 probably doesn't help and the Fourm being closed now for the last 4 years also doesn't help and the RoaringRanch where you try out the bikes from the different motorcycles company's is no more, they are now down the road relocated.I know things change but in my opinion they have not changed for the good at Americade.

The Roaring Brook activities have been relocated to Fort William Henry which is where MOST of the demo bikes are located. The exceptions are Harley and Yamaha who are down on Beach Road. I didn't get a chance to try the updated C650GT (maybe tomorrow) but I did get to ride the Urban GS and had a BALL on that bike. Too bad it's essentially useless as anything but a toy as there isn't any luggage options available for it beyond aftermarket soft luggage. I already have a much more practical bike for short, local rides.

By the way, while I was out riding on Wednesday (June 7), I came around a bend on Route 9N north of Bolton Landing and saw a panel truck with a big sign displaying "RoadPics.com." Standing next to it was a man behind a camera on a tripod. The next morning I checked into the site and found a pretty decent photo so I paid for the full resolution copy. I've posted a smaller version in the Gallery: http://bmw-scooters.com/gallery/c65...-in-bolton-landing-during-americade-2017.html
