Anyone notice what's missing from this list?

As has been suggested, my dealer told me the 2015 C600 is not coming back to the US. If anyone wants one they'll have to use the Skutorr Bike Importing Corporation to get one.

Yep. Part of the reason I bought the one I did. I didn't know if or when a used would show up within reasonable distance again. So I jumped on the new one. And if you go to cycletrader, only 3 c600's listed in California and one is mine.

Maybe I am slow here, but what is the reason for not carrying this model in the US? I thought they were selling better than the C650GT? I must be mistaken?? Any thoughts (or facts??)??

They sell better in Europe. In the States, it is the GT that is the big seller. At my dealership, the GTs sell as soon as they show up on the floor. The Sport models just sit there gathering dust...

I believe my dealer said the sell 650s 4 to 1 over the 600. I still think the scooters overall aren't selling as well here because BMW is doing a piss poor job marketing them.

Thanks for the response(s). On the other note, I am anxious to see the TMax back in the ring. That was a damn fine bike and good looking too.

You can't argue that the 600 is more sporty. It even looks more sporty. The GT's strength is in it's utility. While the 600 is a fun scooter the GT is useful. I can carry a big load of groceries in my GT especially with the BMW top box on it. I think BMW is making a mistake not selling the 600 here without giving it a chance to build a larger following. Neither bike is being very well marketed by BMW, several people told me upon seeing my GT that they didn't know BMW made scooters. Honda used a lot of advertising on their small bikes when they came into the U.S., remember, "You meet the nicest people on a Honda?" That changed a lot of people's out look on motorcycles that Honda quickly became a leader. What do you see about BMW bikes on TV, magazine or newspaper advertisements? Basically nowhere. An advertisement campaign that caught peoples interest would make a big difference but BMW doesn't seem to operate that way.

Advertising the scooter heavily in non-motorcycle related media would help immensely. My scooter has attracted far more attention at my office than ANY of the motorcycles I've ever owned. A scooter (even one as big as the C650GT) seems less "threatening."

....My scooter has attracted far more attention at my office than ANY of the motorcycles I've ever owned....

That's the truth, for sure. The only comments I've had when I park my KLR in the garage at work is, "That bike sure is a bright green, isn't it", and, "Where's the BMW?"

Not that attracting attention should be the goal (well, not for me anyhow), but the C650GT is just different enough that it happens naturally.
