My 2013, 600 sport is due for its 20,000 km (12,000 miles) service. How many of you had to get the belt replaced at that time?

Not me. My belt was finally replaced around 22,000 miles and not because of wear, but because a leaking seal behind the clutch allowed the belt to get contaminated with lubricant.

I had two dealers tell me it "must" be replaced or my warranty would be voided so I did it but I was not happy about the expense. However as is discussed elsewhere on this forum, most other people had dealers just inspect it and it looked fine and would not likely need to be replaced until the 24,000 mile service if then.

It's pretty easy to replace if you do it yourself (and upgrade to Dr. Pulley sliders at the same time).

I would feel more comnfortable doing the belt replacement if someone ever does a youtube video on it. I changed my vespas but had plenty of videos to lead me forward.

Thanks for the link and information. I am selling the scooter but will make sure to pass along this information to the next owner in case they are more mechanically gifted than I am!
