K&N makes a filter designed to be cleaned and re-used, the original filter is paper media and can only be blown clean(er) with compressed air. There may be other filters out there that are designed to clean and re-use but I'm not aware of them. Usual hint is fine wire screen, cotton gauze type media, an oily film sprayed over the filter surface. These typically cost 5 to 6 times more than original type filters and K&N calls the the "million mile filter". They are supposed to offer performance improvements, I've had several over the years on different bikes and several hot rods, not sure if it is worth the extra effort cleaning, let dry for a day, spray down with the filter oil, let dry for several hours, put back on motor and try and avoid dusty roads.
