BMW System 6 EVO Helmet forehead pressure

Hey guys,

I was trying the System 6 EVO Helmet size 60/61 (my head is 60), but I felt a lot of pressure across my forehead, I then tried a 62/63, and there's less pressure, but the helmet doesn't feel as tight on the rest of the head (and the forehead wasn't really comfortable, just felt less pressure there).

I'm pretty sure this helmet is not a good fit for my head shape, but did any of you guys buy this helmet and felt this in the beginning, and if so, did the pressure go away??

Thanks!

I have a long oval head also, and had looked for a new helmet to fit my head for years. My gear room had a set of shelves with all the helmets I had bought that almost fit, including an Arai ( that didn't quite fit), most of these had the foam dug out of the forehead area, and they still didn't fit. I had one helmet that I could wear for an all day ride. It was an HJC XXXL half helmet and it fit fore and aft, but was too wide and would almost blow off in a crosswind. It was almost 15 years old and should have been retired long ago, but, no replacements. They stopped making that model!! What to do?
Bell Helmets came out with a "Custom Fit" helmet. I knew the technology was there to make custom helmets. Why did it take so long!!!!! I had to have one. It took almost a year to get one, and it's very expensive. They laser scan your head and MAKE THE HELMET FOR YOU !!!!!
When the helmet came, I took it out of the box, put it on, it fits perfectly!!!! No more looking, and no more sore forehead. I love it.
Get on a plane and fly to the states and get your head scanned.

I will consider that custom fit helmet from Bell on my next trip to the States!

Meanwhile, do you guys have any good modular helmets (for oval head shapes!) to recommend?

I have two main helmets, one is an agv that fits well and has great ventilation, but it's not modular. I also have a LS2 modular helmet that fits like a glove and was dirt cheap, but the ventilation is non-existent and the visor material reminds me of a clear throwaway cup. I was looking for a modular helmet with better credentials and if the bmw doesn't fit, maybe a Schuberth c3 pro would? (I know BMW uses Schuberth to manufacture the system 6, but perhaps the head shape is different enough to be comfortable?).

BMW helmets have always been known to have pressure on the forehead. I had a system 2 back in the late 80's to the early 90's. By the time I got a new helmet (a shoei duo-tech) the BMW helmet was sloppy on my head and I wore a welders cap under to fill it in. I would have bought another BMW helmet but the system 2 was the last one imported to North America for many years. When I went to buy my latest helmet a shoei neo-tech I would have bought a BMW helmet but my size was not available at the time (sold out)

Once again, Snowdog is providing very sound advice. However, if you are too busy to get on a plane, I suggest the following:

1. Buy a big bag of cement
2. Mix the cement with water in a 5 gallon pail
3. Before the cement hardens completely, stick you head in the pail
4. Wait 20 minutes with your head in the pail for the cement to dry enough to form to your head shape
5. Mail the pail

You left out the last step; make a positive from the concrete, you have to scan from the outside.

Is that a BMW helmet that I see in the UMV video's ? That's got to be the ugliest helmet I have ever seen.

Schubert offer different thicknesses for each part of the inside padding. At least I know this is available for the M1, not sure if it is available for their other helmets.

I'm not a big fan of the double d (takes more time to lock/unlock in the city), and luckly the neotecs sold in Europe come with a steel ratchet system. I bought the helmet to you guys, it fits like a glove and the finishing looks great!

Thanks for the tip!
