C400GT Oil Filter

Pleasure! It is at Wunderlich.

I do know, from owning previous Beemers, that Mahle does make filters for BMW. Now, whether or not they make all of the BMW oil filters I really don't know. The remaining question is whether it makes any sense to buy this one from Wunderlich, or another supplier, rather than buying the OEM one at a BMW dealer. For me, I'm going to make that decision based on availability and cost.

Hi
Or you can save yourself some $ & hassle by ordering from Amazon for $11.00 . Get the Hi Flo # HF164 . Air Filter # HFA 7920 . Just as good or better than dealer Mahle filters

It so simple ....

So I’d say I’m not questioning that logic of price shopping, but I am. It’s a $10 delta either way. Why not just get the best filter available? You can get any cross referenced filter in a day or two so availability is not really an issue generally.

I’m not trying to be impolite. I just am failing to understand.

I have no idea really how the quality or effectiveness of the various aftermarket oil filters compare. What I do know is that BMW OEM oil filters have been made by Mahle in the past and that's the only reason I look for those.
