Corbin Saddle for 2nd Gen c650 gt.

I volunteered my my Scoot to Corbin R&D for a seat and Backrests so if you look at the Corbin site it now shows 2012-2019. First of let me tell you it was an experience being there while they made the seat. They designed and made it while I watched. It was amazing to watch them work and design. So, at any rate, I now have a Corbin on my 2nd Gen 650 gt. Now for the Good part..... What an amazing difference from the stock seat. It allowed me to ride the Bike back 1200 miles non-stop...yes, 1200 miles. Yes, I went ahead and documented as well as submitted for an Ironbutt certification on the ride home. I had the bike shipped to them from Texas, but I felt what better way to try out the new seat than to try it out on an Ironbutt. Again... man...what a difference.
As far as how the bike rode... It performed flawlessly. Averaged 80mph most of the way home. My only complaint was that I could not go much more than 150 miles so the entire ride took 10 fuel stops.. including the start and finish. I had to be very cognisant of how far the next fuel stop was. In a couple of cases I stopped right at 100 miles because of how far the next fuel stop was. This was due to the speed at which I was traveling. Had I kept my speeds down to 65-70 I'm sure I could have made closer to 200 miles. Either way, the bike is a very capable and comfortable tourer. I rode through mountain passes, fog, rain, heavy traffic (LA area), and of course looooong ass flat roads with nothing in between but desert. All in all it was a fantastic trip and I give Kudos to the design team of this great scooter. I had my doubts about how it would work as a replacement for my goldwings... it did very well.

You can go on their website and price it out, but the base seat is around $800 with dual heaters. As far as the colors, I chose the white strip that’s on there. I was trying to match my bike a bit. What you can’t see in the picture is I had them use blue stitching. When you order a seat you choose the colors and patterns used on the seat. The backrests are an additional $285 each.

It's about the same height. Maybe A tad lower once you actually get all the way into the seat, but for the most part you're about the same ride height as in the stock seat. Way more comfortable, however.

Did your bike come with OEM seat heaters? if so, does the heater supplied by Corbin work as OEM (same plug, front seat controlled by combi switch on handlebars etc ). it looks awesome! looking forward to buy one for mine.

Yes they do. That's what they used my bike for... They make the base from the mold they made from my bike. There's no need to tear your stock seat up.. you can keep it or sell it off.

So it basically looks the same (is the same) including the bump up in the back that allows a second helmet to fit?

My bike did have the seat heaters. The Corbin provides the same plug that plugs straight into the oem plug. Driver is still controlled form handlebar and passenger from a switch on the side of the seat.

They can make it in a few hours. Once they were done with the R&D, they scheduled for me visit to not only pickup the bike, but to make a seat customized even further for my ass. The hardest thing was selecting the colors. The white c650 you see on their website with the black seat is my scooter. I chose to add the white strips that you see on the picture at the beginning of this thread. But to answer your questions yes, by all means, schedule a drive in appt and they will make it for you while you wait there. There were 4 other bikes getting custom seats made while I was there.

I had one on my '13 GT. It looked and felt great, black with red stitching and piping. Unfortunately the seat pan they made didn't fit nearly as well as the OME pan. The stock seat pan has two lugs to center the seat when closed and Corbin didn't have any. Also it didtn't really fit very well around the filler flap. If they fit better they would be great. It's too bad they won't just build one on your original seat pan, that would be really fine.

I have no issues with the Fit around the Filler cap. What I did have was a misalignment where the seat latched. I loosened the 4 mounting bolts and adjusted it so that it's centered perfect. That's the only issue I had. Even so, it's such a difference in comfort and made the scooter a real tourer vs the stock seat that I didn't care if the alignment was a bit off. I went from not being able to ride it much more than a couple hours without my coccyx killing me to being able to ride it all day long... case and point, I now have an Ironbutt certificate on it!.

Thanks so much for posting this. I'm mostly loving my C650GT and am debating some stiffer suspension (Wilbers 630) and a new seat (versus an alternative cycle altogether), and was really interested in the Corbin. For 9 years I rode a Burgman 650 with a Russell Day-Long saddle which cost a small fortune but really made the ride nicer - I'm glad you like your Cobrin also.

You've had it a year now - any updates on the seat, or regrets? Does The white stripe get dirty easily.
