Girl Riders!

Being a girl means that you should act in a lady manner. Do you think its appropriate for girls to enter this kind of passion? For me, it doesn't matter. All I know is I feel more beautiful when I'm riding my scooter. :)

I just go out there and ride! I am not sexy nor beautiful, but riding my Mio makes me beautiful and every guy I passed on the road looks at me, thinking in a good way or not, I don't care! :)
And what if I already had a C650GT? Wouldn't that be awesome?!!! :)

Now a days, gender does not matter on whatever passion you are in. As long as you are cut for it and better yet, excel in it, then why not? I have seen girls drive trucks and monster SUVs and these vehicles are far more un-feminine but since they can get away with it and happy with it, then there is no stopping them from driving such big vehicles. Same is with scooters. In fact, I do not see anything wrong with it. As long as she and the ride gets along just fine, then I am fine with that, too.

Ladies....How many own a C600 or C650GT? Or guys, does your wife, significant other, or any gal pals you know own either BMW scooter? I am thinking about a smaller scooter for my wife (she's a new rider and while strong, not that big). After she gets some miles on her scooter, do you think a BMW uber scooter would be too much for her to handle?

My GF bought a used 2012 Honda NC700X at my direction. I felt this was the best learner bike out there. She looked at the C600Sport but wanted manual shift. She is also 5'8" so there was no height issue to deal with. Found this bike at a dealer with 4,200 miles for $5100.

My girl friend went from a 250cc scooter to a Honda DN01 (700 cc ) bike that is automatic and you can also shift up with a paddle shifter she always drives in sport mode, and has had two encounters with the local constables no tickets but two warnings which has slowed her down (thank goodness) she is only 5 ft 2in so the bike fits her well she can flat foot it when she is on the bike, it nice that she can keep up with me now and not disappear in the mirror any more. She got the bike May of this year and has put on over 4000 miles so far but it is mid November and she has stopped for the season I on the other hand have not yet.

My Girl loves our rides on the Sport, she was not too thrilled on the styling of the GT. She is saving for a bike to purchase after the holidays are all over. She does not like the GTS but she does like the LX and the GTV. And she does not care for many other CVT scoots to be honest, geared scooters she likes but does not want one. She has made it clear as crystal that she will be bringing home a Kawasaki Ninja 300. She likes the styling, and the attention given to novice riders like the slipper clutch, low seat hight, light weight, and easy riding position and stunning good looks (if your into that supersport thing). At around the 5K mark on price I think its prob a good value for a fun bike with curb appeal.

I have been riding a little SYM 200 HD for the past few years, mainly commuting to work love it so much that we undertook a couple of longer weekend trips. I realised that if I wanted to do more long distance riding I would need a bigger scoot to cope with the highway speeds, hills and the extra load. Late last year I bought a BMW 650 GT which fits the bill perfectly. I managed to locate pannier frames and panniers; got a top box from my partner for Christmas and a few other bits and pieces and I am now ready to head off on my first long trip of about 3 weeks. So excited my panniers have been packed for a week after much research and assessing what is needed and what can multi purpose - testing to see how accessible everything is it in the right place on the bike. Also needed to get used to the weight and new width of the machine. Im tall but not necessarily big. Parking can be an issue and has to be thought out but otherwise no issues.

Trips are just the best. Don't hesitate to put some pictures on here if you take some and can get that to work for you. Do you have your "cruise control" sorted out?

I did eventually get the posting photos sorted thanks SteveADV - just the internet speed in that part of the house. Also found a list of components for a smart phone holder aka GPS in case I get lost - or maybe lost on purpose. Tasmania is such a beautiful island it will be very tempting just to go exploring on my own. But yes I will definitely choose some of the best photos to post.

Oh and lots of twisties - didnt mention that did I? I am just back from some private instruction on cornering with the scoot almost fully laden for the trip - just to make sure that I am comfortable riding under those conditions with this heavy piece of equipment.

Excellent idea. Sounds like you've got all the boxes checked. Only thing left is to just have a blast!
