Helmet storage

Okay, it's my brother's GT, I'm trying to help him long distance. Does the '18 C650 GT have a way of expanding the under seat storage area to allow helmet storage? He has a Nolan flip up full face that he can't close the seat on. I thought some of "older" (more recent past models) had an expandable floor above rear tire for storage when scoot was not being ridden that would accommodate a large helmet...is there such a thing on his model? Thanks!

I've been able to put an XL flip up fulmer as well as a full face with shield under the seat. It's all about placement. The front helmet needs to be upside down for it to fit. The back helmet needs to be kind of centered on the hump. You may need to adjust it position a bit to get the seat to close. Either way, you should be able to get 2 helmets in there. Think Tetris :D

Same here. Never tried to fit two helmets but I do have Nolan N104 modular helmet and it fits on the front of underseat compartment. Gotta be upside down and turned just the right way. Just play with it, it works.

No expansion on the GT (the Sport has that capability). I can store either a Shoei Multitech or Neotech (both large) under mine but, as a previous poster said, it requires knowing exactly where/how to place it.

Just to be clear, I've been able to fit Both (at the same time). The front one MUST be upside down and the rear smaller open face helmet needs to be at a very precise spot or the seat wont close. Play around with it, it'll fit...

My husband's N104 fits at the front under the seat, upside down, but only in one direction (can't remember which!). I have a Givi V40 to box which holds my Bell RS1. It also fits under the seat, but not both at the same time.

Between both seat and box, we can fit both helmets, two jackets and a bit of shopping.

This tip might help someone with a GT and a big helmet.

I have a Schuberth M1. It's open face and size XL. I've tried to fit it under the seat in the prescribed ways, upside down, sideways, but it's always a touch too big to close the seat. So I turned to the endless magic of the bungee cord.

I hung a three-foot cord on the frame tubes on either side of the trunk. I pull the cord forward, slide the helmet in facing forward, push it forward into the bungee as far as the helmet will go, center the helmet in the trunk, and somehow that math works perfectly. The seat closes easily every time. I drape a small microfiber towel over the bungee as a soft landing spot for the face of the helmet.

TIP FOR HOLDING THE SEAT OPEN. This applies to some older GT's where the lift arm has grown tired and the seat won't stay up. It can also happen with a backrest attached; the extra weight makes the seat want to close. I tape together three short paint stirring sticks (in photo just below the helmet). When the seat is open, prop the stick under it near the nose of the seat. There is a little lip on the underside of the seat that will catch it. Voila. No way your seat will slam shut on you unexpectedly.
