Hi. I am from Annapolis, MD
Just got my C650GT, in fact I went to Dallas Tx to get it and rode it back after Xmas. Great ride, scooter performed great except that once I get to my driveway and stop in front of the garage the engine dies!!!! Never starts again. To make a long story short, it was the faulty side stand switch. Lucky that it did not happen somewhere in the middle of nowhere during the trip!!
Just got call from the dealer that it is ready...going to pick it up tomorrow. :)

Ah, another fellow victim of the sidestand switch. You're luckier than I was. I was left stranded in a particularly inconvenient area where the closest BMW dealer was in a different State. Roadside Assistance was unable to find a tow company to assist because tow companies are generally only licensed in the State in which they operate and the only dealer in the State was "too far away."

Ended up having a bunch of friends helping me out. One who located a trailer I could borrow, and another who went to my house to pick up my car from my wife, then drove over to get the trailer, and then upstate to get me. What an ordeal! Once I got the scooter home, Roadside Assistance was able to get the scooter towed to the dealership and the problem was resolved under warranty.

Geesh, Jaime, I remember your side stand switch issue and that you got stranded, but didn't know the whole story. What a pain in the butt. Helps to have friends...especially those from your club (if that is who came to help). Motorcycle folks are special people and often jump at the chance to help riders in need of assistance.

Got my GT in Sept '14 from a dealer in Bentonville, AR. Traded a '06 RT because the GT was so much more comfortable for my back. Looking forward to talking to others with scooters.

Welcome Graham. Lots of good people/info to be found here. I'm in Massachusetts and have had my GT for one year/6000 miles and have enjoyed all those miles. It's a great ride. Nothing negative to report from my experience. OK - one thing. I can't ride it until winter is over!

Wish others could enjoy winter riding...I ride 1 mile to work, even when below freezing. The GT is perfect in that respect.

Been lurking around for while and wanted to formally introduce myself.
Just got an amazing deal on a used c600. Love the bike. Been riding all my life (25+ years) the past 7 years I owned a Vespa GTS (250 and then the 300). The 600 is an amazing machine. Looking forward to many rides and getting to know all of you.
Already put a SHAD 39 liter top case on it.
Plan to paint the panels matte black when the weather gets a little better.
I ride the bike in the city and I don't have a garage or anything.

Welcome to the shenanigans, Sharki. Your C600 is sitting next to another great bike, the VStrom. And, as you have no doubt figured out, you will have no problem keeping up with any midsize.

The BMW UMVs have gotta be a great bike for large metro areas!

Congrats on your new ride. I have the GT version as well and have loved every one of the 7000 miles I've ridden it. Welcome to the club and Safe riding.

New to the site and bought my 650GT a week ago. Cheers from Orlando, FL!

Russell

Hey Russell,

I am on my way back home to Ohio after renting a bike for a Savannah to Talahassee ride. Cold cold for Fla but ended the week with sunny skies. I think you will really enjoy you UMV.

Hey All,

Less than 30 day ownership of a C600 Sport, and loving every second. I came from a BV350, and prior to that a Buddy 170i. I live in sunny Sand Deigo, so I ride to work almost everyday (as long as it's not raining)...

I joined the site to learn more about the scooter and do my own minor repairs... Just recently I searched the site for head lamp replacement; I replaced it myself, and took less than thirty minutes...!
