Hello everyone! I’m in Dayton, OH and currently deciding between c400x and 650GT. Really wanted 650 Sport, but can’t seem to track a new one down. Looking forward to meeting everyone and being part of the community!

Hello from Texas. Looking to make a move to a 650 and have many questions. Been riding big heavy tourers for as long as I can remember but have always wanted to get into a scooter. I've sold off most of my Bikes (I had 5 at one point so don't judge) but kept my favorites: '75 Goldwing (naked) and a '97 Valkyrie setup for touring. I'm finding it hard to move the Valkyrie around as I've had bi-lateral knee replacements and my legs aren't as strong as they once were. At any rate. Looking forward to learning about these great scooters and see if maybe I can get into one here soon.
Thanks for the ADD.

Hi everyone, Cees here from Holland, via Switzerland and France to California, since March 2018. That month, I bought a slightly used (1,960 miles) 2016 Valencia Orange C650 Sport, because I really don't like sitting in traffic, here in Los Angeles. My commute is only 7 miles each way, from Marina del Rey to LA, but by car during most of the day that will take about an hour, whereas on the motorcycle it takes 20 minutes. Of course you have to pay attention to other traffic.
I am still quite amazed at how I am usually the only one on a motorcycle, and everyone else sits in their tin cans, mostly not moving while I whizz by. The climate is perfect, lane splitting is allowed (like most everywhere else in the world, outside the US) and car traffic is, as the world knows, horrible in LA. So what better way to get around than on two wheels, right?
Anyways, I used to ride Honda motorscooters back in Geneva, Switzerland for many years, and now I am enjoying the C650 (a lot actually). I do my own maintenance, because my experiences with two BMW dealers (Long Beach and Burbank) have not been so great, plus I like doing things myself, plus that saves a lot of time and, of course, money, so I hope to contribute from that perspective as well. In addition to the C650 I also got myself a G310R last year, with then only 278 miles, and a 1976 Yamaha XS650 (with only 4,800 miles).

Hello from Houston, TX
I got the 650GT to commute and the short drop off with my daughter to her school just a few miles away (waiting on the rest of her gear to come in). Commuting on a BMW HP4 S1000rr with a laptop and tie on was a hassle to the point I wasn't riding very much any more. I also looked at the BMW R1250 but it was more than I wanted to spend and I just don't go on longer rides these days to justify it. Found a used 2019 with 74 miles on it and picked it up over the weekend. I can be a bit of a horsepower junky so I'm already looking at the CVT mods to make it a little quicker. It will also likely see the drag strip just for fun.

I believe your model already has the cvt mods. BMW corrected that back in 2016. It's the gen 1 models that needed it. Have fun with it... They're pretty quick scoots.

Hello, from Bartlett Illinois. Been enjoying my "Burgie" for past several years and test rode a 2019 C650GT. Well...... "bye, bye Burgie..." traded it in on my new C650GT scoot last week, very nice!!! Glad to have a forum to discuss the BWM. One thing I'm finding already is that there are not a lot of options customizing. trying to make mine more tour-comfortable, especially for my wife. Will be searching thru Forum for accessories. Thanks

Congrats on the new scoot... First on your list should be the seat, especially if you're going to be doing any long distance riding.
Enjoy the new scooter!.

Hello. I'm a new member from Tokyo.

Have a C650GT in a garage waiting for a parking space nearby. First ride ever on a scooter, I was sold, but already have a number of mods in mind.

Cheers,

Hi folks,
Bibster here.
Had GSA’s and RT’s since 2008 and just love BMW motorcycles. Currently have a 2016 GSA and a 2018 Vespa 300GTS.
In the process of purchasing either a C400 GT or the C650 GT. Back to back test rides this week.
Initial thoughts. I wish in 2020 the C650 had the TFT screen, control wheel etc as on the C400 GT cruise control would also be a welcome addition.
Joined to find out more info from owners prior to purchase and to contribute.

Hello I am from Pennsylvania and Have a worked 2016 BV350 , 2018 Aprilia Dorsaduro ,2006 Aprilia Scarabeo 500 and a bunch of Trials Bikes to get my dirt bike riding in .
I traded in a 2017 MP3 because I couldn't get used to the feel and thought I would want a Hooligan bike like the Dorsaduro . But now am considering getting rid of the 2 Aprilia’s
and getting a big ride a C650 and this looks like a great place to get some feedback . I look forward to getting some sound advice from people in the know .

Thanks Tom

Welcome Tom. I rode both size MP3s when I was in-the-biz. At 6'/32" inseam..around 250 at the time (LOL), I didn't find them all that comfortable. My feet and knees were pretty much confined to the one position, as there is no upturn in the floorboards. They have to have room for those dual front wheels. OTOH, the front-end sure was confidence-inspiring, and it was really cool to stop, and activate the lock. On-lookers would ponder HOW I didn't have to put a foot down, LOL. Now that I have proper new tires on my GT (bought used), I have all the confidence on her, both at freeway speed and barely eeking through parking lots.

Paul you are rite on when you talk about the curiosity effect with the MP3 the first day I had it as I was going up a Main Street a guy n his girl rolled along side of me for a LONG time videoing me n my MP3 .
I lone out my bikes all the time and most who rode it thought it was neat but my 2016 BV350 is the best of the bunch . Now I am looking for a used 2016 C650 for a reasonable price if I can find one .

Hi my name is Dee and I am from Cleveland Ohio. I was riding a Honda helix and realized I just needed some more power and I have been looking at this BMW 600 a few years ago. Well it got away from me because I didn’t make up my mind right away. I was searching looking for a used one and I lucked out and got a brand new one with 600 miles on it. oh I just love my C650 GT scooter. I got it yesterday and wait it out until 5 o’clock to read it oh my God I just love the ride. Now since it’s gonna rain for the next three days I’m stuck in the house. I can’t believe it waited to rain after I bought the bike. Whoa is me, LOL.

Congratulation on the new c650 they are really quite the bike I am still looking for my used BMW and getting my Scarabeo 500 up for sale . The BV350 will be my go to bike for the time being and a few rides on my little scoots to lighten the mood . Today I rode almost 100 miles and in shorts with no helmet on my 110 Honda scooter but I wore a mask when I went to the bar to get a beer 🤔 .

I'm picking up my C650Gt tomorrow. I will be trading in my 2017 Africa Twin! Sounds crazy right. When I got back into motorcyling a few years ago I bought a beautiful Honda Silverwing 600 for $2700 and really liked it. It was the only thing my wife would ride on the back of. I progressed through two other bikes til I settled on the Africa Twin. I do like it but I kept missing my Silverwing. The scooter was always so easy to hop on and go. I'm a big BMW fan. I had a 1976 2002. I now own a 2004 E46 325CI. Anyway wish me luck. I have to drive the Africa Twin from Dallas to Houston tomorrow and drive back on the 650. Can't wait.

Hi all - I've been on the back of a Piaggio BV250 for the last 10 years and have been extremely happy with it. However, time and kms have finally taken their toll and its time to move on to a new ride. I'd been eyeing the C400 bikes and took a 2020 400GT for a test ride a couple of weeks ago. To say that initial ride agreed with me would be an understatement.
Before i pull the trigger on that purchase though I wanted to find some stories about current and past owners of this series for their thoughts - especially those riders who live in the Lower Mainland of BC, or the PNW of the US. Overall i want to find out if the owners of those bikes would absolutely buy them again or if other options would have proven better in the long run.

Thanks in advance for any information you'd like to share.
