Hi everyone
I just got a new to me 2016 c650 Sport with 7k miles.

Any recommended websites to order stuff for our bike in the US? Like exhaust systems, chains, pulleys

Is it worth reflashing the ecu? Who does it? Stand-alone?

Gear oil and Chain oil are the same, 75w90?
500cc and 250cc right?

Any emissions systems that can be taken out for more power?

Been thinking bout Grip Puppies and Kaoko throttle lock for more comfort.

Any easy power modifications?

I ordered:
KN Air Filter BM-6012
KN Oil Filter KN-164
Motul 15w50 API SL/SH/SG and JASO MA(3.1 liters/ and yes I read the screw driver tip with the mesh filter)

thank you everyone

Welcome! Same 2016 Sport going onto 8,000 miles now. Dealer replaced the timing chain thing when the original one started rattling at 2,000 miles. But now it seems to have started rattling again, so I don't know.
On your go-fast questions - I believe mine is more than fast enough stock ....

Hi there -
I keep reading about people wanting to reflash the ECU on the C650's . Reflashing is much common in the motorcycle world , not in scooterland . Nobody I know of has the ability to reflash a C650. Also , why would you want to? You want speed, then get a Yamaha MT-10 or a MT-07. Those bike will get you from 0 to dead in 4 seconds. I feel the adjustment to the transmission, like lowering the weights in variator & changing to Dr. Pulley sliders will get you off the line much faster if that's what you want.
Change to Akrapovic exhaust to save some weight & improve exhaust sound . Part # for you 2016 : S-B6SO7-HZAAT . No cheap buy very nice

For belt, filters, spark plugs , coolant, etc. I recommend ordering from this guy in Italy: https://www.carpimoto.it/en-US/
Order extra stuff to make shipping cost worth it. Also the the US $ is strong against the EURO right now

Better that Kaoko throttle lock: https://www.excelthrottlecontrol.com/

Performance stuff here: https://scooterpartsco.com/bmw/bmwsport?zenid=dj1smshos60ej9q9itdq9uing6

Recommend Motul 300 75W-90 gear oil . Pricey , but the best stuff . You will need 500 ml in the rear chain drive for lubrication. Change it about every 6000 miles. Easy to do, just drain from bottom & refill on top

You can get sliders from here: https://drpulley.co/shop/

Have fun customizing your new ride ....

Enjoy - Mike

Big thx for that! Lots of good info.

The reflash was more for if the factory tune was too conservative. Maybe a tune would smooth things out and make it snappier.

Just did a tune up: bike has 7000
KN BM-6012 AirFilter
KN 164 Oil Filter
Motul 5100 15w50(3.1)
Royal Purple MaxGear 75w90
Gear Oil(250ml) & Chain Oil(500ml)

I was looking at the new pipe from IXIL. I love the double tubes. What’s your thoughts on that one?

I agree scooter’s definitely get their “power mods” from messing with the belts n rollers.
Just asked to see if there was an easy mod for power as if something came too restrictive from factory

Welcome. Check if this already has hydraulic timing chain tensioner on it.
Hi.
Can you please explain on how to check this?
I saw on a video on its location(right side/under seat area by your thigh)
Do I have to remove all this plastic to verify?
Or is there a quicker easier way to check?

Did yours come with a mechanical tensioner?
Did they replace it with a Hydraulic tensioner?

I looked up, today, the invoice from the dealer in Long Beach that replaced the tensioner, under warranty. This is it, as per the part number on the invoice. According to the diagnosis, the old tensioner was sticking (or something to that effect. No indication as to the type of the original tensioner):

So this is what they fitted. Is this the hydraulic, or the mechanical version?

I will need to get a new one as the engine rattles once again (I asked the BMW dealer here in Long Beach to test it and tell me if it meant anything and they said it sounded just fine to them, but I don't trust them).

I just got a 2016 C650 Sport as well. How did it go with the hydraulic timing chain tensioner? Mine has 9300 miles and it does not have the hydraulic fitting shown. I am new to the bike but don't hear any annoying rattling.
Thanks for the links to suppliers,
