Only one low beam lit on new C650GT

At first I assumed that maybe this was the way it is supposed to be as both high beams light up. Is this the way it is manufactured or do I have faulty equipment?

Thanks, I was wondering if that was the case as I had read in forums for other bikes that this was true for their respective machines. Nothing in the manual (at least that I could find) gives that information.

The left and right headlight bulbs are both H7, which has a single filament. The reflectors in the headlight housings are shaped for low beam (right) and high beam (left).
IMHO this is clever engineering. The reflectors can have a simpler shape, because they do not have to project two different beams depending on which filament is lit.
There may be less light on low beam (although I find it perfectly adequate) but the total amount of light when the high beam is lit is the same as a bike with two high/low headlights. Dual filament headlights must cover both the near area and the far area when they are on high, so about 50W is aimed near and 50W is aimed far. With a C650, about 50W (right) is aimed near and 50W (left) is aimed far.
