Powerlet Outlet (Smart Charger, Heated Gear) on Left Side of C 400 GT?

Greetings all,

I am about to take delivery of the new scoot, possibly this week, and one of my first electrical farkles will be to add a Powerlet, DIN, BMW, whatever you want to call it, socket on the left side of the bike, preferably below my left thigh.

I've done this for the last several bikes and scooters now. I use that outlet to plug in a smart charger when the bike's in the garage, and for heated gear on those occasions when I ride when it's chilly out. This is easier to see in pics than to explain it in words, so, if you have a minute or two, please take a look at one of my sub-galleries to see what I'm talking about:

I find this easier and quicker, for routine float charging, than connecting to an SAE pigtail, and I find it to be ideal location for hooking up heated gear.

In any case, I'd appreciate feedback from the group here regarding making a connection to the battery, perhaps any quirks with removing tupperware over on the left side, and similar related matters. Thanks for any help.

You might want to check the right cubby as mine (a 2022) has one installed. It's that BMW power socket that accepts those BMW things.

Thanks for the thought.

OTOH:

- I already have plans for the right cubby. I plan to put a hole through the door, and install a 3BR PANEL TAPP USB outlet in that door. I already bought a DIN/BMW/Powerlet plug, which I'll connect to the socket in that right cubby and then to the PANEL TAPP.

- As I mentioned in that sub-gallery that I cited in my original post, I REALLY like to have an outlet below my left thigh. The location, IMO, is IDEAL for heated gear, and not too shabby for plugging in a smart-charger when in the garage.

Here's a shot of the dash of my 650 Burgman, that shows the PANEL TAPP (along with some other drilled-through goodies). I primarily use that USB socket for powering my GoPro.
