They definitely help with wind from the front. Not so much from the side and sometimes I get some buffeting from the back caused by the vortex from the windscreen.

I rode a C 400 X for two weeks in Europe, with my wife out back, in May 2022. She liked it so much -- and I was in the market for a new bike, anyway -- that when we got home I ordered the C 400 GT. I also ordered the Wunderlich Marathon Windshield with it (https://www.wunderlichamerica.com/b...hon-windscreen-clear-tinted-solid-tinted.html).

Measured straight up from the roundel on the handlebar cover, both the stock and the Marathon are pretty much the same height to the top edge. However, the Marathon is wider, and has a different type of curvature on the way up. My wife says that the Marathon gives noticeably less buffeting to the pillion, so this may be of interest to you.

I'm 5'9", 29" - 30" inseam, so sort of average, in terms of the legs vs. torso ratio. Are you typical for a 6'2" person, or are you heavy on the inseam or torso aspect?

You might also be interested in one of those adjustable attachment lips that clip on the top of windshields. A lot of companies make that kind of add-on (and let me know if you're not familiar with them).

Nope, sorry, haven't tried it, and know of no one who has.

I think the official spec of the stock C 400 GT seat is 31.5", but it feels lower than that to me. Maybe the shape or something. In any case, I'm fine with the stock seat height, even given that I'm not a Teutonic giant, the way BMW seems to target riders. I test rode a C 650-something years back, at the local dealer, and I remember being very disappointed in how high that seat was.

The C 400 GT seat is actually lower than the seats on my two former Burgman 650 seats. Of course, the clear winner for me was a Victory bagger I owned for five years; flat-foot-able with a good bend in the knees, so I could hold it up easily at stops, even if it did weigh about 900 lbs.

I'm 602 also, 34" inseam. Is it hitting you square in the forehead like almost every other screen you and I have ridden behind? Funnily enough, the screen on the Xmax, in the high position, puts the stream right on the vents of my Arai. Though I am unfamiliar with the C400 screens, there is a mod that can be accomplished on many. If possible, you can put nylon spacers and a longer screw to reattach to push the screen forward a 1/2 3/4 inch. Very often that is enough to move the air over our helmets, at our height. 10-minute $2.00 experiment if nothing else.
