Used someone"s tip on the TPMS today

I searched for but couldn't find the original post I read a few years ago about changing the battery in the TPS sensor. When I purchased the scooter it had the tires changed by "someone on Facebook and now the front pressure doesn't read ", when I changed the tires myself after wearing out the ones that came on it I realized the front sensor was missing. I installed the tires and ordered a sensor. When I changed the tires again I installed the new sensor, "woke it up" with a sensor tool and synced it to the bike: it worked for about 6 weeks then got intermittent then quit. I ordered another one, put it on when I installed the Michelins and it worked for about 6 months, now it has failed like the first one. Both of these sensors must have sat on a shelf for years before I bought them, checking with my meter I removed a very dead battery and installed a good one. The original poster said he put hot glue back in place of the sealer that was originally in place, I've used the hot glue, some 2 sided rubber mounting tape and then wrapped the sensor over the battery compartment with good electrical tape. I studied the sensor and the centrifugal forces will be pushing against the glue and I don't want it to push out and fail. Due to my cancer surgery then shoulder surgery I haven't been able to ride as much and now that I'm recovering I'm riding as much as ever. One thing that puzzles me is the rear TPS is original to this 2013 bike and has never failed to read, yet 2 purchased in the last 2 years have both failed....when I replace the tires again I'll try and report back how this repair worked.

I decided to get original BMW sensors (well, whoever they buy them from) through Wunderlich because changing and syncing them is so much work. Had them installed with new tires a few months ago, all still good (touch wood). The originals lasted 7 years and 10K miles.
