What's on your feet?

Just ordered a pair of these in black today. Speed and Strength® | Black Nine? Motorcycle Shoes

I have a brown pair that I wore almost daily this year. I am a teacher and they are amazingly comfortable to be on my feet in all day; plus they are mildly protective. The soles managed to last until just recently also but they did start to look extra worn by the end of the year.

The soles on the above shoes have just about worn out. I pretty much wore them every day at work (but had 8 weeks of in the summer) but still I don't like spending $100 every 6 months on shoes. Those things are really comfortable though, they are just shy of being as comfortable as my Nike running shoes. Ordered a pair of these today:

Hope they don't bother my feet/back from standing all day.

I wear steel toe combat boots on the bike. When working I wear Timberland work shoes, which are the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned.

For a couple of years I would wear zip up MC boots to work, then change into a pair of shoes at work. It was just one more thing I had to do in order to ride the 7 miles to work. While not the end of the world, again, one more thing to pack/unpack. I started with moto shoes because I wanted something that looked more like sneakers but offered some protection. I've looked at hiking boots, but they aren't really my style. I know style is a personal thing so not knocking others' choice.

My two biggest concerns are comfort on my feet all day and longevity. The Speed and Strength shoes I bought in June look just fine, but now the ball of the feet and heel are worn out to the point of almost slipping on dry surfaces. I just don't like the idea of spending $150-$200 on boots to last 6 months. I will update on these after some months owning them.

Another great thing about scooters is that you don't have shifter considerations. Big toes, big soles, stiff. None of that really matters with scooters. A pair of high tops with hi viz green laces or clunky hiking boots, it all works.

Just got the new shoes today. 24 hours after ordering, free shipping too. They are stiffer and about 1.5 inches higher up the ankle than the speed and strength shoes. Also, narrower so that may pose a problem. They look good under jeans.

When I had my Silverwing, I rode it for a few weeks in the winter,( car broke down)and was able to wear my issue "Mickey Mouse" boots, and they have huge toes. Would have been tough to shift with those.

Yup, with auto drive bikes, foot apparel becomes less important. That said, having a big maxi-scooter (Beemer, Burgman, Tmax, etc.) puts you in a position of just possibly making a "statement"....You're young-ish (or forward thinking), not fixed to the mainstream kinda thinking, and not just a "my way or no way" guy or gal. C'mon, wear that "inner you" somewhere!
