Wunderlich Wind Deflector install

Decided to give this a go. My biggest issue is not turbulence/buffeting but noise from the wind. I ride with earplugs and even then, if I don't get them in just right then I get a headache after a while from the wind. I plan on getting a Sena communication system but if I need to turn the volume louder than that of the current wind noise, I'd go deaf (then the headaches would stop right).

So, the package arrived as expected. I will say the directions are not the best. They have a second set of directions online; I used both to help.

First step, cut the red 3M adhesive to fit the contour of the mounting plate. The 3M adhesive goes directly onto the bikes windshield.

Next, cut this black foam pad to the contour of the silver plate

A-Ha! After cutting the black foam pad, the left over piece fits the contour needed for the 3M adhesive.

I actually figured that out before cutting anything.

Everything cut and basically an overview of how it all gets put together

After applying the 3M adhesive, use some lock-tite on the screws as they recommend and install onto the windshield

After that, install the actual wind deflector. This is the veiw.

How much height does it add? 10cm from the top of the windscreen. The actual new plastic piece itself is 8cm high.

It doesn't really bother me to look through, in fact it is lower than where I look when riding. If looking right in front of me yes, it's noticeable. The big thing now is trying to get it adjusted right. I played with it a little but still need to tweak it. I did notice a difference right away, but not enough to recommend it yet.

Big picture view:

Maybe a better pic:

Please give your thoughts on this item after you've put a few miles on it. I'm very interested in this deflector and works like to know which one to get. I'm leaning towards the big giant one.

Well, in the past couple of days I've put some high speed miles with this thing. It works, but....I still haven't gotten it adjusted quite right. I know the correct setting is there somewhere, just can't tell where. Combined with the 3 different positions of the windscreen and that is even more of a riddle.

My biggest concern is actually the amount of wobble it creates when a gust of wind or large vehicle passes. It does make me nervous about that. Still working at it, will update later.

Here is my question to you guys, what makes the Aeroflow so good? What was your reason for replacing the stock screen? I know I said it already, but the biggest reason for me is wind noise. So if there is something about the Aeroflow that you think makes a difference let me know and I will try to emulate it with the wind deflector or keep looking at aftermarket for the C600. Thanks

I still am thinking about a malossi screen. At 42cm + the wind deflector it just might be the right combo. Plus the malossi is 5cm thick, while the OEM is only 4cm.

Found the stock screen far too noisy no matter what position it was in. MUCH quieter with the Aeroflow... and less buffeting to boot. Be hard to emulate the screen though... the complex curves in the shape combined with a lack of "cutouts" compared to the stock screen are what combine to make the airflow far less turbulent.

I had also installed wunderlich deflector but did not like it, and end up buying givi d5105, it is taller screen and if you look through it, it is very quiet. But I also have short sport malossi screen for hot season

Did you have any trouble getting either of the screens to fit? I read a couple of people had difficulty with the holes matching or trouble getting the screws out.

I like the wind deflector function but I don't like how it looks.

I have a wunderlich wind deflector for the Honda CTX 700 that I bought I have and after market wind screen that I get some buffeting the Wunderlich works but it is right in my line of sight, which would be OK if it didn't have that hunk of metal holding it right in your face. I would have to cut down the shield for it not to be in my line of sight which I'm not going to do. If you can get past looking at it in your face it really does cut the buffeting right out.

I adjusted quickly to the line of sight with the Wunderlich; don't notice it anymore. I haven't yet adjusted to looking at it on my bike, not a fan of it's aesthetics. Incidentally, I just cut down my screen today.

No, both of them fit perfectly, mine is 2014 model c600 sport. It is good to have options because our taste keeps changing, I like short screen now, it looks simple and you can lean forward more without hitting the screen. When cold season I will change back to tall screen

I can now give a decent review: yes, it is worth it and yes it works. Riding to work with it everyday for about a month, plus the 200 mile trip gave me a good feel for it. I took it off the other day and can definitely tell the difference. I just am not crazy about the looks of it on the bike.

I did order a new puig screen though. Don't know if I will still use the wind deflector.
