One of the benefits of this type of cover on my Honda 150 scooter was that the cover 'traps' the engine heat and channels it to the body where without the cover it dissipates into the air.

Happened to me on my at the time new-to-me C650. Turned out to be caused by a bad battery post connection.

Hi there - I find myself in need of a second scooter here in LA/San Diego. Ideally another C650 but if someone has or knows of a different scoot of at least 150 cc for sale not too far away, I am interested.

That is disappointing, it seems there are more than expected engine failures on the C400's. I still maintain finding a good used C650 is a good alternative to the C400 series: more power and even low mileage ones are not so expensive these days. Bon chance with the broken engine!

Me I wear earbuds most of the time (except for short lower speed rides). Advertised -30 db and whatever the real number is, it makes a tremendous difference, like night and day. Nothing you can do to a 650 that will have anywhere near the same effect.

I've used Tucano covers on my Honda scooters when living in Geneva for 6 years. They allowed me to ride all through the winters, perfect designs and execution.

Maybe get a second opinion from an independent shop - dealership will always be the most expensive option. Perhaps a used engine from a crashed bike would be a good alternative to fixing this one which, if it indeed has a bent valve and zero compression, means the timing chain broke or otherwise...

The reasons I don't like my Sport having the automatic rear parking brake tied to the sidestand are that, (1) it does not allow me to put it on the center stand without first retracting the side stand, and (2) I can't move the bike around the garage just by straightening it from the side stand -...

Bit puzzled why this is useful. My C650 Sport of course has a parking brake, when it's on the side stand, and to me that's more a nuisance than a benefit.
