Do you still have mechanical chain tensioner or hydraulic retrofit? I bought one last year with 6k miles for $5400 in showroom condition. Sold it few months later because didn’t want to deal with possible engine failure due to faulty mechanical tensioner. Regret it to this day.
My 2013 has hydraulic conversion and engine still graneded itself at 15k miles. It’s seems anything bmw puts its logo on automatically has timing chain issue because this engine isn’t even bmw designed. I now have 2019 with zero noise besides clutch whistling until warm when I start going
It’s a crapshoot with this. I had 2013 that was retrofitted with hydraulic blow up the engine at 15k miles and I had 2016 sport that ran fine at 7k when I sold it. If it runs good and makes no noise leave it alone. Dealer wants $1200 for parts and labor for this job around NYC area.
Don’t put carriage before the horse. You scooter should not experience any issues since it’s already with improved cam tensioner design from the factory. Just twist that throttle and ride.
