Changing the Brake Fluid on the CE 04

Worth mentioning the Motoscan app is Android only. There are other apps out there for iOS, but hard to ascertain whether they have the same functionality…

@Rootctrl and @mgg What is the verdict on the OBDLink LX. Did it work out, or not?

Changing the Brake Fluid on the CE 04

My CE 04 is ready for its first ‘standard scope’ service in my ownership, and the only significant requirement beyond safety checks and lubricating various levers, and as it is 24 months since the last service, is “change brake fluid, entire system”. Basically this means pumping fresh Dot 4...

Buffeting at highway speeds (50+ MPH)

My bike came with the OEM tall screen, and the Puig is indeed a couple of inches taller. Works well for me. I bought it mainly because with these bikes streamlining apparently has a significant effect on range, but I also appreciate the reduced wind pressure on upper body. With the bars being...

Another vote for the Puig screen, and for the same reasons as @Tron

    CE04 Replacement Mirrors

Yes, but the size of the mirror surface is still relevant to readability by the human eye. A water droplet, for example, is acutely convex, but with a mirror that size would you be able to see what’s going on? Convex rear view mirrors have a long and honourable history on vehicles, nothing new...

    CE04 Replacement Mirrors

I have a set of Shin Yo Circula mirrors on my ‘04. They are round and very practical, giving a great rear view. I guess I am guilty of some fairly narrow thinking in that respect… To me, they also continue the solid/round theme established by the funky disc wheels...

Removing/replacing CE 04 heated comfort seat?

Correct. I must just have gotten used to sitting on the hump…

Removing/replacing CE 04 heated comfort seat?

Point taken. I think whichever way, these seats are not designed for long distance touring… But when the weather turns I do appreciate the heat

Removing/replacing CE 04 heated comfort seat?

Interesting to hear. I bought my 04 a couple of years ago and beforehand I tried a demo bike with #4. I found I was sitting on the hump, which was not desirable. When my bike came up for sale the dealer assured me that it had #5, Comfort Seat Long, and when I rode it I convinced myself that it...

Removing/replacing CE 04 heated comfort seat?

I’m only 5’10” and still needed the ‘Backrest’ Seat 2. Maybe I have very long arms or something :)

Removing/replacing CE 04 heated comfort seat?

Believe the hump on seat 2 is 2½ /60mm further back, though where I obtained this info from, not quite sure… Edit – here it is: https://support.bmw-motorrad.com/s/article/CE-04-Differences-between-the-seats-CWMft?language=en_GB

    Check High Beams

Here’s my UK bike: Daytime running lights – along bottom of the ‘glass’. On as soon as you hit the power: Low (dipped) beam – top outer lights, both sides, plus the running lights: Main (high) beam – all of the above plus lower middle lights: Not the best pics, but hopefully serve to...
