Thanks your excellent feedback @Bob66, @Jojo and @korinthias. Back to my original post I've bought on Amazon but not used yet due to fear of blowing up the bike the one mentioned:
SYNCWIRE Type 2 Charging Cable 22kW 3m 32A 3 Phase - Mode 3 Type 2
to Type 2 EV Charging Cable for EV & PHEV for...
Thanks for that, useful. I'm not in a rush so I might try and find out the bmw part number for the official bmw 22 kW charging power: 3-phase, 32 amps cable then look for it on that same auction site. It might be the same as an i4 or mini car one.
I have a uk BMW CE04 fitted with the fast charger I'm looking for a short 3m long cable for fast charging at longer journeys. I've seen this one but I'm unsure if its correct type and will it allow for maximum fast charging at the widest choice of public chargers in the uk :
SYNCWIRE Type 2...
The bike has finally been fixed by bmw, apparently the ce04 charging management unit or iLM has been replaced. Not sure what's in that unit to cause it to leak some sort of acid but when I get more info I'll update here.
Well it got taken by BMW roadside assistance to my nearest level 2 BMW technician 60 miles away who sent photos to the only UK Level 4 technician in Park Lane, London who said put cones around it and don't touch it.
Its now being sent to Park Lane, which if you know your Monopoly board...
I saw some white powder on the left hand "gearbox cover" got a nasty surprise when I took a panel off to take a look - I think it's the top part that is leaking some sort of acid I suspect to the larger part below. I've marked it with an arrow.
Does anyone know what the name of the part...
Thanks , useful info and a handy thread too. Both the torx tool the Hook Wrench x2 (as your photo) are mentioned in the CE 04 owners manual. I found the torx tool behind the front panel in a little holder I was wondering if the Hook Wrench x2 should come with the bike or on board and where...
Tidy solution @triangletom . I’m new to the ce 04, does it have any on board tools included. I found the little torx L shaped tool behind the front screen thanks to the manual however it refers to hook wrenches for adjusting the suspension. Are these hidden somewhere or do you need to buy...
I've got one of the old Monimoto cylindric ones (maybe v1 or v2) that I've re-used from my old bike. It has been working ok since Jan 2019, just tested it after reading this post. I've put it under the seat near the hump, see photo if it helps someone or someones done a better solution...
Thanks @wspollack, a big improvement over my phone effort. The windmill is only 400 yards away from our home so I'll get the DSLR out and do something more arty/nobby when I've got time as I like the premise. Maybe a second one with a wind turbine and better gramma just for @korinthias :)
Old power, new power..... Not the best picture of my new (to me) CE 04, will work on a better version. 1 week in and I've already had a red screen of death (RSOD) followed by a tortoise, both gone now but I can see this forum being useful :).
