    2026 BMW C400GT

    I'm in SoCal, and I commuted with the C400 (until it self destructed). With the traffic, I hardly ever go above 75mph. I had no prob doing 75mph for an hour in traffic on the C400. It's a big scoot already, compared to kymco 250/beverly 350s, etc.

    You sir, are a lucky man. I did not purchase a used warranty, and my scoot left me stranded on the side of the freeway. Even with that knowledge, Motorrad NA refused to assist with an engine repair at only 7400mi. It was a fantastic bike when it ran.

    This is exactly what my indy mechanic said. However he meant it as: "what do you expect with a cylinder cylinder 350cc motor going 7K rpm for an hour at a time?" Not in terms of a newish 1300GS

    posting for posterity: < 10K mi, '19 C400X, "supposedly" catastrophic engine failure: bad camshaft causing complete loss of compression. (in quotes because I don't trust the local dealership mechanics to know wtf they're doing, since it took 'em over 2 months to diagnose this, etc.)

    Right? Why a new fuel pump if the camshaft failed, and why no timing chain/belt? How does a camshaft fail at less than 10K mi? Also, I checked on alibaba, a new Loncin 350cc motor is less than $1K. You think I should to ask them to escalate this to BMW HQ?

    thanks for the pricing breakdown. The tool is $330 new in the US, resell is ~$200, so it'd be to $130 to get a few TFT graphical screens (since I don't have heated grips.)
