Anyone ever changed the rear fairing side panel? Mine got scarred from a loose shopping cart. I have a replacement but can't seem to find a way to get at the fasteners to change it. Do you have to remove the under seat storage liner?

Yes, The Service Manual says remove the carpet and you'll have to remove the luggage compartment light to do that -View attachment 2212
Here's the screw locations -View attachment 2211
I need help for the plastic rivet removal. I have a 2019 C650GT Scooter. I have removed luggage carpet and the 2 Torx screws. I do not understand how to remove the plastic rivet. I thought it was another screw that required a different Torx or other specialized tool to remove. Once i remove the rivet, will the rear panel slid upward? This scooter is hard to work on. I spent 2 days replacing the low beam and have cut hands and sore fingers as a result.I was a bit hesitant to remove the formed carpet for fear of tearing it but after removing it I saw I needn't have worried it's pretty substantial. There are three fasteners, two Torx screws at the bottom of the panel and one plastic rivet. My new panel took a lot of cussing and pushing to get it to fit on properly. Odd since I could fit the old one on and off easily. Eventually I managed to get the thing on and my bike is now pristine once again.
I don't have a 650, but if you're talking about the plastic screws that go in a little plastic expanding sleeve, I mean something like these ...I need help for the plastic rivet removal. Excellent. Thanks for the quick reply. I referred to them as plastic rivets because other people had called it that. I think it is the plastic screw that you mentioned. Every time I go to do something on this scooter, I have to try and find a video or forum that someone explains the procedure. I've worked on cars and motorcycles but getting to items on the scooter is a challenge

Ebay. Of course, this was for my C 400 GT, not your scoot:Thanks again for your advice. It was exactly as you described. I was able to remove the rear fairing once the screw insert was removed.
Where did you get your service manual for your scooter?
