43000 miles, 1 owner, c400x

I've done 43k miles since new on my bike in 3 years, and I want to share what's problems I had with my c400x.

1. I had engine cutting out when going slowly over bumps, took it to BMW dealer, had internal wiring issues or something, anyway they had to replace the engine at 18k miles under warranty.

2. Central strand was very wobbly, took it to BMW dealer and they replaced under warranty.

3..Flexi case seat is not flexing any more and is jammed.

4. Heated seats are switching on and off automatically.

These are the main issue I've had with my bike.

I've had firsts 4 services with BMW dealer, but know use a local garage.

I ride my bike in a large city in heavy traffic so heavy breaking and acceleration, wear and tear.

But the bike is still holding despite the abuse I give it with my aggressive riding style.

All in all a good bike to own long term.

I have a 2019 C400x I bought new in 2020. I just finished my 90,000 mile service. At 51,000 miles it swallowed a valve but fortunately I had an extended warranty so I was able to have the engine and drive train assembly replaced. Other than that I’ve had the heated grips replaced and the clutch due to failure. All in all I really enjoy riding it and my opinion is that the design is superb but the quality control is terrible.

90k miles. Wow. That is assuring to know the bike is capable of reaching that many miles. I'll watch out for the valve issue. Might just get them all replaced next service. Thanks for the information. Ride safe.

For the most part I really like my 2022 C400GT.

I had a temperature sensor replaced under warranty. It triggered a CEL but never once affected the performance.

Currently, I've been told the roller weights were bad because they developed "flat" spots.

It has made a noise like a heatshield is loose but nothing has ever been found to prove that.

Likes: The heated grips and seats. The way it handles. The lights and looks
