    Considering a C650

Valves are shim and bucket. I don't think anyone is finding actual valve adjustment really necessary until somewhere near 50,000 miles. There were some bugs in first year engines such as the problem with the timing chain adjuster but that's been corrected in both the older and new models. I...

    Snoopy's in the shop again.

If it's only the little nubs that tore off and the upper surface is still okay you could cheat with a few self tapping screws into the plastic.

One way to protect the bodywork and extend the fender is with a piece of rubber sheet or a car mud flap. Just cut to shape and attach to the rear part of the fender. That works well and the flexibility won't cause any damage to the fender if you accidentally run over something.

Wall Street Journal BMW C650GT review

I had K1100LT three years ago when I bought my 650GT. Now I have only one bike, the GT. I really liked my LT, great looking, great performance and all that but the GT won out just because it was so handy. In traffic, on the freeway, running errands or longer trips, I just picked the GT for...

    Snoopy's in the shop again.

You might try cleaning the leaking seal with a piece of plastic. I've used the method a few times and got good results. I make the tool out of a piece of milk bottle or watter bottle plastic. Here's a couple YouTube videos on how to do it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kGno_lYGjJU...

Newbie can't drive on the lawn

I can't say what's going on there but then I have a '13 and don't ride on the lawn. If you handle the throttle on a hard surface as though it was slippery grass does the same thing happen?

2016 C 650 gs what should it sell for ?

Very true, I've ridden maxi's with my Goldwing buddies and various friends with all kinds of bikes including HDs. A couple of them had doubts I could keep up. Ha! They got an eye opener and had a lot more respect for my scooter after that. A couple of them have downsized to Silverwings since...

    Are 2015 the same as 2016 ?

Glad to see you are a man of refinement, not one of those others.

    Dropped my 650GT today.

Too true, GTs are for gentlemen and the Sports are for ruffians. Can you believe it? a 650 sport doesn't even have room to store your polo saddle and mallet.

2016 C 650 gs what should it sell for ?

I actually chased down a HD rider on the freeway who flipped off me and my riding pal as he passed us. My buddy, a 90 year old Marine, was riding his Silverwing and I was on my GT. We caught him and passed him at a bit more than 100mph and waved at him as we went past. It'd been real...

    My Scoot has arrived!

Those "shoo shoos" as you folks call 'em don't work on deer. Hope your critters pay more attention. Make sure you don't put 'em on backwards. That will attract critters.

    2016 650 GT or 2016 Yamaha T Max ?

I don't have a Yamaha dealer here in Medford, OR but we do have an excellent family owned BMW dealer. The GT is my third BMW bike after two K1100LTs and they supported all three bikes very well for me. I had to do all the work that needed to be done on my Goldwing because the Honda/Kawasaki...

    My GT is boring!

Boring meaning it just runs and runs like the Eveready Bunny. I also often get questions about the bike, especially, "Is that a motor scooter or a motorcycle?" I just tell them it's a disguised motorcycle posing as a scooter.

Weight Limit and riding 2 up

I've ridden many times to the the neighboring town about thirty five miles away, both surface streets and freeway with my wife on the pillion. We're a bit tall and weigh about 420lbs together and I keep have about twenty pounds of stuff in the bike including the top box. The bike handles well at...

    FINALLY coming to the States

Looks like the under seat room has been taken by the batteries. That and the price will probably doom it over here. I'd rather have a K1600GTL for that kind of money. Or a pair of C650s, a GT and a Sport.

    My GT is boring!

My GT is boring and that's the way I like it! It's been perfectly reliable for the past four years, needed a couple recalls but other than those it just goes and goes. I don't have a lot of mileage on mine, about 10K, but it's mostly the worst kind, lots of short trips and stop and go. Looks...

    Scooter pontoons

I thought it might be Britain. I've seen pictures of Brighton Beach that looked a lot like that but the costume of the rider and the license plate looked pretty much like the Eastern side of the pond. I'd suspect that poor scooter had a lot of corrosion and rust problems after that bath. I...

    Used C600

Sounds pretty reasonable to me. If there was one here for that price I'd be awfully tempted to put it in my garage next to my '13 GT. It would be nice to have the full set.

New C 650 GT owner- 76 yrs. young- Dave C. texas

Welcome David, I've been riding for about the same length of time as you have and can tell you the GT is one fine, not so little, covert motorcycle disguised as a scooter. I've put about 10,000 miles on my '13 and can vouch for the fact that it's nimble in traffic, very good in the twisties and...
