    Really odd problem!

I'd take the bike back to the dealer and have them flash the ECU. It might be that yours doesn't have the latest update on the engine control computer. I had a similar problem with my GT and that cured it. One other thing is that these engines really don't seem to like a steady diet of ethanol...

    Battery died after 3 years.

I don't buy the dealer's claim either. The only time I've had my bike on a tender is during the winter when I might not ride for a coupleweeks or so. The cold in my garage saps the battery's charge somewhat. I do a lot of short errand type rides during most of the year but haven't had a battery...

    Lithium ion battery

My '13 still has it's original battery. Cranks just as fast now as it did when it was new. I expect to get at least five years out of it, the AGM batteries in my Goldwings lasted at least that long.

    battery question - again !

It might mean your trickle charger doesn't show a full charge until a certain amount of time has passed. I had a BMW charger I used on my old K1100LT. It could show a full charge when in use but if you disconnected it and then reconnected it the thing would go back to showing less than a full...

    Reving on center stand.

It depends, how fast are you trying to wind it up? It's easy to hit the rev limiter when the rear wheel is off the ground. I can wind mine up to an indicated 80mph or more on the center stand with no problem.

    odd starting problem this morning

I've experienced that same problem with my scooter a couple of times. I think it's something do with ethanol in the gas. Using an additive like that mentioned or Star Brite once in a while seems to eliminate the problem. It's sporadic and rare enough that the exact cause is pretty difficult to...

Dropped my GT two days ago.

Yes I could have. I could also have backed the bike downhill 100' or so and backed into a driveway then turned downhill but once in a while one misjudges the turning radius needed. I did just that. One doesn't always get it right even with years of riding. The moral of the story, take a moment...

    Lithium ion battery

Lead acid batteries will blow up sometimes when a load is put on them or charging them while they're frozen. I had that happen in my truck when I lived in the arctic. Apparently the hydrogen that normally vents out of the battery case can become trapped due to frozen over vents. All it takes is...

    TPMS inaccurate.

I'll just stay with the readings on my tire gauges. I have an analog and a digital gauge that agree with each other on everything I've used them on. So I'll set the pressure with the gauge and use the TPMS as a reference. As far as reading the pressure and compensating for temperature, every...

    Emergency Braking: Scooter vs Motorcycle

Deer are a problem in this area too. When I'm out in the evening and after dark on two lane roads especially I try to find a car to follow and let them clear the dear. Two friends have had deer collision in the past couple of years, luckily no serious injuries but some pretty expensive damage to...

Issue after filling up with 650GT

Yeah, you can find it there are two stations with real gas not too far from me here but the price is about half a buck more per gallon. With E10 you get about ten percent less power and mileage than with the real stuff due to the lower BTU content. Not to mention the corrosion problems that can...

Issue after filling up with 650GT

Same here, hot weather too. I use 93 octane in fact I go once in a while to a station that sells the stuff without that damnable alcohol in it. Cost more but the bike sure likes it better. I do add a bit of fuel additive every couple tankfuls. Star Brite enzyme stuff seems to make things operate...

    Judder on Take off

Smoking the tire will only sell tires. Just be a bit more forceful on launches. It won't damage the belt or clutch but it will reduce slippage which is what polishes the clutch pads and makes them judder. You want to get 'er moving, opening the throttle a bit more on take off will lock up the...

    Judder on Take off

Might be a slightly glazed clutch. Pretty common on Silverwings which operate much the same. When it does that, try holding the brakes and running up the engine speed a couple of times. Usually one or two short (four or five) second stationary run ups will clean it up if that's the problem. One...

    Sidecar on C65GT

Might be difficult to adapt a hack to a Gt. On most sidecar rigs it's necessary to change the fork rake to make the set up steer unless you're an Olympic weightlifter. It's not as easy as making mounts on the frame to link up to the scooter. There will be considerable more wear on the drive...

    New Corbin seat

Every Corbin I've had required a pretty good break in period. As you said, it's hard to tell for sure whether its the rider's backside or the seat that breaks in. Either way they are pretty comfortable after they do. Seemed strange I was used to a big cushy saddle on my Goldwings but the Corbin...

Checking the oil is a pain

It shouldn't use any appreciable oil between oil changes.

    Emergency Braking: Scooter vs Motorcycle

Actually that won't work. Linked brakes normally are set up so that the linkage only works on the front wheel when the rear brake is applied. Operating the front brake doesn't apply the rear brake. At lease that's the way Honda does it on the Goldwing and some of their other models.

    Emergency Braking: Scooter vs Motorcycle

Some scooters and motorcycles do have linked brakes. For example Honda Goldwings from the 1200 model to the current 1800s all had linked brakes. When you press the brake pedal pressure is applied to both brakes but most of the pressure goes to the rear brake. The linking doesn't make much if any...
