    New Corbin seat

I bought a jug of Corbin's leather dressing with the seat. Oddly enough I've never experienced a problem with a leather seat in hot weather. This is the third bike I've had here with a Corbin leather seat. We have a good bit of thee digit temps in summer here recently had a 106F day but no...

    New Corbin seat

Corbin has a wide array of leather and vinyl colors also stitching and piping colors. When you order you can specify all those. I preferred not to add the red piping, just went with the red stitching to tie the seat into the bike's color. Wanted it to be understated. The leather is called...

    Wunderlich or Kaoko ?

Sylly's adaptation has been used by a lot of people. Works okay though it's a bit slower to disconnect. I don't see it being any more dangerous to use than a Throttlemieister or Kaoko thpe.

    New Corbin seat

Thought I'd post a picture of the new Corbin seat on my GT. Looks pretty good to me. I gained about an inch of legroom and a more comfortable seat besides the appearance. Yester day I took a ride of about 100 miles with no discomfort which is more than I can say about my OEM. I like the feel of...

    Change of heart.

Well yeah, the scooter market in the US is pretty tiny and an electric scooter is a miniscule part of the scooter market. Ergo, not many around and little reason for manufacturers to be interested in building them. At least not in the US and Canada.

    Dunlop ScootSmart Tires

I rode a lot of miles on Dunlops the E2 and E3 bias ply and the E3 radials on my GL1500 and Gl1800 Goldwings. I liked them they were very good in the wet and gave good service life.

    Dunlop ScootSmart Tires

I had Bridgestone Hoops on two SWs but didn't like their wet road performance. I've had both the OEM Metzlers and now the Michelin Power Pures on my GT. Both performed well but the Michelens seem to be wearing better.

California Highway 1; Pacific Coast Highway

Highway 1 in California provides some gorgeous views but in July 2013 I spent most of my time for long stretches looking at the back end of very slow moving RVs. Hard to get around these guys and a real PIA when you're on a bike. Chugging along like that on my '01 Goldwing with it's stupid...

    Check chain sag?

Be sure to check the chain in several different positions because any out of round in the sprockets or stiffness in the chain links will make it vary.

I might add another scooter to my stable, your thoughts.

Nice looking bike. I've been yearning a bit for another K1100LT trying not to look for one. A guy really should have a couple bikes. Does the BV350 have a stationary mounted engine or is it part of the swing arm?

    Changing final drive oil/lube

Very good price, it cost me $50US for the case gasket alone.

    Lubed the center stand

The 900lbs referred to a Goldwing 1500, the 1800 is slightly lighter due to its aluminum frame.

    Lubed the center stand

Funny how these things creep up on a person. I've had a bit of difficulty rocking my scooter off the center stand lately and getting it back up on the stand so have been parking in in the garage on the kickstand. I finally got around to putting the bike on the lift and lubing the center stand...

    It's HOT up here!!!

When you change your oll use a screwdriver shaft or socket extension through the oil screen as you push it into place. That way you can't drop it into the engine. I see no reason to change that screen very often like BMW thinks you should because it's easy to see if it's plugged up and can't be...

Fuel display & Lassen Volcanic National Park ride

One trip through Lassen on with my brother on our bikes we were a bit early in the season. The road across the top had just been opened and it was really cold. Foggy too, not much to look at. I was riding my Goldwing 1800 and wishing I'd been on something lighter due to the patches of ice on the...

    It's HOT up here!!!

Same in Southern Oregon. Many times when I rode out to the coast and back it would be hot here, chilly on the coast and halfway back the heat starts up again.

    It's HOT up here!!!

I was out riding with a friend today. It wasn't terribly hot, about 96F. Now tomorrow will be somewhat warmer, supposed to be 106F. But it isn't global warming it's July and August in Southern Oregon. Lot cooler once you get out of the Rogue Valley and into the hills.

Fuel display & Lassen Volcanic National Park ride

I find I can get about half a gallon more in my bike if I fuel it on the center stand. Seem to be an bubble trapped when on the side stand.

    Scooter won't start

Addition of ethanol in gasoline reduces the total BTUs available to the engine. Ergo, lower mileage. Remove the alcohol and run pure gasoline and you get more power and better mileage. One other problem is most of the world isn't stupid enough to use their food for fuel so engines and fuel...
