    Dead again.

Just got the call back. The service manager said it's on the lift now, but he doesn't like a sound he's hearing from the engine. It's looking more and more like there's a Burgman in my future... I am TIRED of this shit!!

    Dead again.

They never called back (I'm thinking that's SOP for any motorcycle dealership these days) so I just called them. No new news... :(

    Dead again.

It has been two weeks to the day since the scooter was delivered to Max's in South Windsor, CT. I was advised when the scooter was picked up that they were about two weeks behind, so today is the day I start inquiring about it. I'll keep everyone posted. I did manage 1,000 trouble free miles...

    Dead again.

I was told the shop was backed up about two weeks, so I wasn't going to start calling about it until after I got back from the Americade. I'm finally getting my Zero back today, too (that has been down since March due to lack of response from Zero. I got fed up waiting and called their...

    BMW large softbag luggage

Unless you absolutely/positively need a BMW roundel on your luggage, I'd go with this and a cheap set up nylon straps (NOT stretchable bungees): http://www.aerostich.com/bags/more-packing-options/stuffsacs-and-duffels/ortlieb-dry-bag-duffel-bags.html The passenger grab handles are perfect...

    Dead again.

The Charter Oak Rally WOULD'VE been a great time if not for that ******* scooter dying YET AGAIN. Arrived on Friday, checked in and set up my tent. Then my friend and I took a ride to the Vanilla Bean for lunch. After lunch, we tanked up and headed back to the rally site. JUST as I pulled...

2018 Charter Oak Rally in Connecticut

It's this weekend. Let's see if I'm once again the only scooter on site...

How many of you ride both your scooter and a motorcycle?

I thought I'd have a problem, but I switch between three different PTWs: C650GT: Turn signal on left thumb, left lever is the rear brake, no shifting required. K1200LT: Left turn button on left grip, right turn button on right grip, cancel on right. Left lever is the clutch, and there is a...

    Headlight

It is essentially the same thing I have to do to change the bulb on my K1200LT. The difference being, there is a LOT more room to work with under the K1200LT's fairing than under the C650GT's fairing...

    Headlight

Yeah, I'm DEFINITELY going to need more practice. Double-edged sword... I hope I don't have to do it again any time soon. PS: I made a correction to my initial post. It's an "H7" bulb, NOT an "H4" in our scooters.

    Headlight

Well, it's actually been a few years since I installed that cheap, no-name H7 bulb and it burned out this morning. I see people have said you can replace the bulb without removing the body panels so I'll try this afternoon when I go to lunch.

    Larger windscreen for C650GT

When the Aeroflow screen on my old K1200LT finally started developing some cracks I wasn't able to replace it with another Aeroflow as they had stopped making that shield some years ago. Fortunately VStream still makes a model for the K1200LT and thanks to the suggestion of several other riders...

    Lifespan of the CVT belt

FWIW, the C650GT hasn't been any more maintenance intensive than my old Yamaha TMAX. In some respects it is actually cheaper because the TMAX had a 4,000 mile interval for the engine and a 3,000 mile interval for oil changes. The C650GT is pretty much every 6,000 miles so it goes into the shop...

    Lifespan of the CVT belt

Supposedly, the Burgman belt is a lifetime part. Browsing the Burgman discussion forums, though, that's a pipe dream. It is also a MAJOR job to replace (because the engineers didn't think it would ever have to be replaced). Caveat Emptor.

    Led headlight?

Here's the funny thing... I'd been buying high-end "bright white" halogen bulbs every time the headlight burned out. The last time it burned out, I was on the road and stopped at a gas station. I bought a generic H4 bulb (can't even remember the brand name) and not only was it bright enough...

    2018 BMW RA National Rally

This is a little closer to home for me than the MOA National. I've never been to an RA Rally before: http://bmwra.org/news/national-rally
