    C650GT to make it quieter

First time I've EVER seen anyone with this wish. Everyone else wants to make it LOUDER. :D

    Distance after fuel light

I prefer NOT knowing. I find that a GOOD incentive to find a gas station as quickly as possible instead of riding along with false confidence. :p

Thinking its time to sell the BMW C650GT

The bike is regularly serviced every 6,000 miles by a mechanic I've known literally for decades. The seal failure is apparently NOT uncommon as I've seen a few reported here in this forum as well. The rear wheel bearing failure rubs me the wrong way because somewhere along the line, BMW seems...

Thinking its time to sell the BMW C650GT

Mine was done (for free) around 20,000 miles. I forget the actual mileage but you can probably find my tale of woe when it broke down around 300 miles from home. It was still under warranty so Roadside Assistance towed it to the nearest dealership near Rochester, NY (Country Rode Cycles)...

Thinking its time to sell the BMW C650GT

My advice is to practice what I preach: Ride it into the ground. My 2013 model has 30,000 miles on it and I have no intention of getting rid of it any time soon.

    MotoAmerica Pittsburg round

The only other maxi-scooters we saw all weekend was a Burgman in the Suzuki demo fleet and a Silverwing. I was the only BMW maxi scooter we saw all weekend. I was amazed at the turn out for this event; the parking lot was absolutely full Saturday and Sunday. Not as many bikes as in...

    MotoAmerica Pittsburg round

440 uneventful miles today. Checked into the Microtel in Beaver Falls (birthplace of "Broadway" Joe Namath). Off to the races tomorrow. Hey, we're going to get to ride a lap of the track on our scooters on Saturday!

    Recall on 2017 C-Evolution and C650GT Scooters

Yeah, next time I do my tires I'm going to have to look myself.

    Recall on 2017 C-Evolution and C650GT Scooters

Bear in mind the last recall on the 2017 R1200GS involved the saddlebags blocking the rear-side reflectors and you get an idea of how ludicrous these recalls seem to be, lately.

    C650GT headlight cover

It's a matter of economics. I doubt there are enough of us (especially in the US) for it to be profitable to mass market. Paige at Aeroflow said they had a choice between the windshield or the headlight shield and figured there would be more of a market for the windshield so that's what they...

    C650GT headlight cover

    MotoAmerica Pittsburg round

For the first time ever, the MotoAmerica road race series is coming to Pittsburg next week. Since MotoGP no longer goes to Indianapolis, my Silverwing-riding friend and I decided this will have to do. We plan on getting to our hotel Thursday evening so we can see all of the practices...

Review of the BMW C-Evolution eScooter

http://blog.motorcycle.com/2017/07/31/manufacturers/bmw/2017-bmw-c-evolution-electric-scooter-launching-california/ This article claims the C-Evolution has an electrically adjusted windscreen and a CVT. I think it's incorrect on both counts as I saw no evidence of either on my test ride (see...

    Headlight burned out?

I'm probably jinxing myself here but... I haven't had to replace a bulb in well over a year now. Last bulb was just some generic 55 watt H4 bulb I picked up at a service station because I NEEDED a bulb "right now." I don't even remember the brand but it has held up better than any of the...

Thought about removing the center stand for more ground clearance.

I've scraped mine a couple of times. It's a good reminder to slow the **** down. :p

Thought about removing the center stand for more ground clearance.

I wouldn't remove the centerstand. If you do, the next thing that touches the asphalt wouldn't "give" and that would be BAD...
