    Modified Backrest C650GT

What did they do to modify it? From the back side it looks the same. Did they remove foam on the front?

    Removing backrest on 2018 C650GT

Here is another option I found. Its an aluminum rod,12" long and is drilled out ID to 7mm. Cut into three sections and you dont need the spacers.

    Removing backrest on 2018 C650GT

Hi Mike These are the parts I got. The spacers seem to be doing the job, I would have preferred something in metal like aluminum, but couldn't find any. Since they are an off white, I wrapped them with some black electrical tape. If you could find some type of round stock and then drill...

    Hello from Sussex UK

Welcome. I'm fairly new here myself. Recently sold an R12RT and moved to a 19 c650gt. Other bike has 3 wheels, but I like riding two. Wife is ok with riding on the back of the 3 wheeler and thats enough of a reason to keep it around. Not doing too much driving myself due to Covid, so...

    Removing backrest on 2018 C650GT

Took the bike for a good ride yesterday with the seat raised up and I like it. More support to the lower back, doesnt feel like it is pushing me more forward on the seat. Probably not the greatest looking mod ever, but thats ok.

    Removing backrest on 2018 C650GT

Parts came today so I went ahead and raised the backrest. I tried it in all three spots but ended up with the front set of holes that pushes it back the farthest. Otherwise it put me too far forward on the seat. I have yet to take it for a ride, I'll do that tomorrow morning and see how it...

    Removing backrest on 2018 C650GT

Hopefully not, thats what the spacers will help with too. Should stiffen it up enough. Fingers crossed.

    Removing backrest on 2018 C650GT

This afternoon I ordered some 120mm M6 socket cap bolts and some spacers to see if I can raise up the backrest a few inches and see if it suits me better. It's not like it doesnt suit me currently, but its about 20 bucks in parts so I figured what the heck. I tried the local hardware store but...

    That was weird

Interesting. On the Can Am Sypder forum, a guy was complaining about all sorts of weird issues and codes on a used bike that he had just gotten. It also had a brand new battery and he tried all sorts of things, eventually dropped it at the dealer. Everybody was telling him it had to be...

    Scooter rumors/wishful thoughts?

I would doubt they would discontinue it worldwide, but importing to the US, who knows? Covid has probably put a stop to some of their production, and that may affect which bikes they bring to the US. I know my local dealer has been on low stock for a while now, even though bike sales seem to...

    That was weird

How old is the battery? Since its a 2013 and you did your first oil change I can assume its new to you. How long ago the battery was changed is the question. Later model bikes tend to be very dependent on having a constant proper battery voltage and if it drops I can imagine less than...

    C650gt variator removal tool??

I was in the same boat, ended up driving about 4 hours to get a 2019 in blue. I also bought it site unseen and didnt even get a good ride on it till I got home. But it is a hoot to drive. I think it does well at 70. They updated the variator in 2016 so I wouldnt mess with it. I never rode...

    C650gt variator removal tool??

It doesnt do too bad at 70, not strained at all. What year are you getting? If its post 2016 I would probably just drive it for a while before you start making mods. Compared to my Silverwing, its more stable and suited to highway speeds. Compared to my R1200RT, probably not so much.

    Scooter rumors/wishful thoughts?

The new models tend to be coming out of China, the 650 is still made in Germany even with the Kymco engine. It's due for an update. A new digital dash would be nice.

New C650GT owner in Portsmouth, VA

Howdy all. Just picked up a 2019 in blue matte finish. Not my first Scooter or first BMW. I had a 2009 RT that I sold a week or so ago to downsize a bit. Loved the RT but was never really comfortable with the seat height and I had done all I could with a corbin low seat but decided it was...
