    New member welcome thread..

Hey Gerardo, Glad you're enjoying your CGT. And, yup, mechanical expertise can be found all over the place around here.

2016 GT with 1,600 miles, top case, Nav V for $7,500 - worth it?

I have 2 bikes that are white. Getting them cleaned up is no problem. With white you have a blank canvas to stripe, etc., but I personally like the look of the bike as is. (Surprised Skutorr didn't suggest they throw in Dr. Pulley Sliders, too.;))

    What a shame.

Yeah, wow, never realized there were so few in NY state. A little surprised Max didn't expand further west.

    exhaust heat-shield sheered-off

I second Lee's comment, for sure. FWIW...My guess is that your original thoughts are correct; the set-up tech missed something for whatever reason.

    Is THIS what you mean???

Ha...That is an old post. Maybe I've been married to long but I remember the bike more than the gal.

    Dropped my 650GT today.

My daughter had the same fear. She spent a fair amount of time in empty parking lots just stopping, turning, figure eights, etc. Now she's a pro. FWIW....Dropping your bike is not mandatory;) and may not happen at all. If it drops, it drops. I have lost count of how many times I have gone down...

    Girl Riders!

Welcome aboard, tensixmom. Be patient. Practice in parking lots. If this is your first PTW, it may take you a little while to get really comfortable. Think about going to your local BMW motorcycle club meeting. It is great to have another gal in the group.

Maybe The Worst BMW Scoot Failure Story

Now that is one wild story. This is a fun hobby:D

Old-school hand protection from the cold.

Yeah, I agree. It looks "customized for comfort". I have never tried soft hand guards, but they look like they would work great, especially with heated grips!

    Winter Storage

Ok, so for those that have been on the forum for awhile you've seen this picture before, but it's that time of year for me to post again. The story is that my wife took the picture a few years ago as I was shoveling a small path to get out of the driveway. Riding all year round takes some...

Hey Jeff, You'll get the weight figured out once you've moved it around a couple dozen times.;) Welcome to the BMW C class world.

Wierd oil leak from Kickstand on my BMW c650GT

Hey Ben, Did you check your oil recently? If so, are you sure you got the dip stick perfectly back in place? If not, oil can end up in all kinds of weird places on the bike. Don't ask how I know.

My first casualty with the scooter

That's good news. I have to admit, when I saw the thread headline I was thinking you hit something. Glad it was just a minor adjustment.

    Juicing up the ride

I'm betting you'll really like the Kaoko.

Thinking its time to sell the BMW C650GT

I'm with Bill. Sounds like you are a candidate for NC700x DCT. It has storage where the gas tank should be. Good power to weight and torque. And has a strong reliability reputation. You may or may not like the wind protection or the ergos, though. Kinda like comparing a cruiser (which the GT is...

    MotoAmerica Pittsburg round

Hmmmm...How many touring scooters total? Probably not too many. The Beemer is at the top of the class in its category (with a couple others). When I go to events of this sort I see very very few scooters. A couple years ago I was in Orlando at a moto event and among a sea of PTWs, the only...

    Juicing up the ride

I have never lost a phone off any bikes but on my Ural ram mount I now use the elastic "holder" thing pictured below. I can't imagine a phone coming loose with the ram and that thing. Costs less than 4 bucks.

    Hard Cases Revisited and Done

All kinds of good stuff here. They look good and supply that "just a little bit more" that might be needed, especially if traveling 2up.
