New C 650 GT owner- 76 yrs. young- Dave C. texas

Hey Dave, While looking at your pictures I see what looks like an Ultra Classic in the background. Are you coming off a Harley touring bike to the C650GT or just adding the BMW to your collection?

    I can't believe I missed this!!

I have never been to a large scooter event like Amerivespa, but I bet it's a hoot. Scooters are just fun. And in some parts of the world a necessity I guess. But around my neck of the woods, a 150cc and lower scooter parked among the big bikes is usually ridden by a guy or gal that cares more...

    I can't believe I missed this!!

Not sure if the BMWs really qualify as a scooter, but it has been my experience that "scooter groups" are tons of fun.

    Motorcycle Gear Observation

I agree about the increase in full face helmets. Might be the passing of the guard to a younger set that want more high tech stuff (blue tooth, etc.).

    After-Market Rear Shock?

Same thing happened to me...not my bike.;)

Has anyone had the bike cut off

Ok, here's a basic suggestion....Have you tired an octane booster additive? That worked for me on another bike. Simple. Cheap. Yah never know. If it were to work for a few tanks of gas, you might have the problem figured out.

    Motorcycle Gear Observation

Driving from Kohler, WI to Chagrin Falls, Ohio just yesterday. While I love Chicago (excluding the last World Series, of course), the traffic and slow downs on the interstates was something else. I bring this up here only because this thread is about gear, and I gotta tell yah, I am very happy I...

    Side Cars

Didn't see the movie but it looks like I would get a good laugh out of it. Here's a Cycle World story about a couple of the guys setting a "world record" on a Ural. Funny stuff. (Note: it opens on the last page so you'll have to scroll up to read it.)...

    Side Cars

Old thread but a new purchase.... Not exactly up to BMW C-bike standards as far as comfort, speed, handling, etc etc etc, but a blast to ride around in. Unfortunetly, my old friend Phil is no longer with us (he would have loved tagging along...and I would have loved having him there). So...

    Considering a C650

I can't speak to the maintenance questions, but as far freeway travel is concerned, no problem. Plenty of passing power and very comfortable.

Ha, yeah I saw that. Excellent article though. One of the guys in my office put it on my desk. Nice pictures, too.

Newbie can't drive on the lawn

Is there fertilizer on the lawn? If so, the GT doesn't like that kind of stuff...On the other hand, the Sport loves that kind of sh*t.:D (I hope my post was helpful:rolleyes:)

    Hello from Indy

Hey Danny, Glad you're here. I have never gone a trip with the Beemer C bike two up but I imagine it will be more comfortable for her than your GS. Let us know how the excursions go. Did you add a top case/side cases for your wardrobe requirements?;)

Spring break rides with my brother on HIS BMW (GS800r, that is...)

California weather today (the good kind ) in Northeast Ohio so brought the bike to work to leave early and go on a nice relaxing ride to Ellicottville, NY. Never left. Unexpected calls. Last minute meetings. The manager of the building in which we are the primary tenant leaving a...

BMW C650GT|Sport|C600 Sport All Weather Motorcycle Cover $100

100 bucks for an all weather cover is not too bad. I get the cheap variety (less than $30 I think and available at most auto parts stores, Walmart, etc.) because I only use mine when I travel. No doubt the kind I buy would not be for outside storage. This one probably could handle it no problem.
