    Software update 2026

Regard that with a grain of salt. What the firmware update does is reset your usage profile, so the scooter starts with a blank slate. Energy is energy, no software update is going to give you more effective range. Range is primarily dependent on riding speed, as energy requirement rises with...

    Shad top case size??

Really? I mean, I like my TR55, which by the numbers should be 17% larger, but when I have my gear (helmet, gloves, jacket and back protector) in it when I go into the office, there's not much space remaining.

    Adjusting the charge settings

15x is most recent. I can take a picture tonight of mine (US-Version as well).

Changing the Brake Fluid on the CE 04

True. But an Android phone that will run it can probably be had for less than $50...

    Trailering CE04

Although I found that connecting the loops to the footrests wasn't all that secure, going to the frame was better.

    Trailering CE04

Yeah, not recommended. I used one exactly once on my GS, and specifically made sure it didn't interfere with the wheel, or so I thought. It shifted mid-way and my wheel is now a bit loose because of it. So I don't make that mistake again. It might be that the handlebar geometry of the CE04 is...

    Trailering CE04

Not in detail, but it's not rocket science, either. Have a look if you can zoom in enough to see what you're looking for. And like I said, these here came in pretty handy.

Wireless charging mount installation on the handlebar with power.

I use the bike to commute to work, so I can't say anything about using a 2nd helmet. But I don't see why that wouldn't work: the CE04 can pair two helmets as-is, and I currently run the music from the phone through the CE04 and to the helmet (so I can skip forward and change volume with the...

Wireless charging mount installation on the handlebar with power.

Adding to the list, today I installed my Carpuride Android Auto display. I chose a fixed mount over the Quadlock since I really don't need to take it off at all. I don't think it'll get stolen in the places where I park the scooter, and in any case one would need the right hex key to unscrew...

    Trailering CE04

I don't have a picture, but I needed to trailer the CE04 to get to the service dealer last week. What I noticed is that at the front you're supposed to attach the straps to the horizontal bar above the forks and pull it into the springs. The problem here is that hooks don't work very well with...

BMW CE-04 range data as measured across 600 miles of riding

Well, they kind of are, it's a Maxi-Scooter after all. Obviously the range drops significantly. I once tried to ride it to our plant which is 55mi away from my home, all of it two-lane rural highways running 60mph. Made it with 2% left on the battery, so likely won't do that again. With an ICE...

BMW CE-04 range data as measured across 600 miles of riding

Old thread, but just to re-iterate it: same for me. My commute is about 8mi of 50mph rural road, 5mi of 65mph highway and 10mi of 70mph interstate. I get around 6-6.5 mi/kWh, or a range of 55mi give or take. Once after a Doctor's visit where I couldn't charge, I rolled into my garage after 52 mi...

    Brake lights stopped working

Not really. It's not uncommon to have 12V batteries die after four years, that can happen. It probably should last longer in the CE04 since that kind of has a built-in battery tender, but if it has been subjected to harsh conditions, possible. They're not that expensive anyway, but if mine dies...

    Brake lights stopped working

That's probably why. If you charged the bike since then, the internal 12V battery got charged, too. But the battery is a consumable part, so it might work for a while, but will ultimately need to be replaced. I'd rather do that now than later before you get stranded somewhere because it finally...

Wireless charging mount installation on the handlebar with power.

@TVsFrank, that would also interest me. The problem I see is that the device is mounted on the handlebar, so needs to rotate, and the power is fixed to the bike, so some (unsightly) slack is probably necessary and unavoidable.

    Battery life span.

It depends on the firmware. AFAIK it's only in the newest 15- firmware. Mine's still on the 12- firmware and doesn't have it, either.

    Battery Condition

As nobody really knows where that "battery condition" number comes from, or how it is calculated, I wouldn't treat it as very important. Averaged real world range is probably a better metric for battery health. That said, 30A@240V translates to 7.2kW, so not even "1C" for a 8.9kWh battery. That...

    Resetting the service timer

No, why would you? I don't have an Evolution, but I reset the service timer with a BT OBD dongle, a smartphone and the Motoscan app.

    Front Fairing Rattle

I've heard from some people that also had a rattling noise, but without anything being broken. I guess I got lucky, mine doesn't rattle.
