    BMW C400X 2019 - Crankshaft failure at 27k km - Anyone else?

Hmmm .. so apparently the woodruff key failed and that caused catastrophic engine damage. Pistons may be also damaged. Have you looked into sourcing a good used engine? Taking the broken one apart, you will need expensive BMW parts, seals, and not to mention the labor involved. A used engine...

    BMW C400X 2019 - Crankshaft failure at 27k km - Anyone else?

I would try and find a good used engine off a (dare I say this) crashed C400 and either wrench it in yourself or have an independent shop do it - no need for them to be BMW experts, any good motorcycle shop should be able to do this. Just make sure to swap over all the electronics so the 'brain'...

    C600 tuning tips

I doubt it's the belt. I'm no expert on tuning by a long shot (I feel the stock setup is more than fine) but having replaced my C650 belt after 30K kilometers, I found it had not worn hardly at all, I think it would have been fine for another 30K kilometers and for that reason I did not throw it...

    2015 C650 GT mirror vibration solution ?

On my C650 there is 0 vibration on the mirrors, actually my K1600 mirrors do vibrate and I got spoiled by the C650 so now I will have to investigate and see whether the 'K' mirrors are properly tightened down.

    Dropped my 650GT today.

Picture? I don't know what you mean by 'base 2 bolt connections'.

    Spring is in the air.

Your post makes me realize how double spoilt we are here in the warmer climates - we had 34 degrees celcius here last week, and I can ride year-round in t-shirt most of the time ... I think the C600-650, or any heavy displacement maxi scooter really, is the perfect motorcycle for gunning through...

    OIL CHANGE

That oil has a very odd color? Anyway, the one cause I can think of as to how water might get in, is condensation: i.e. high air humidity where the bike was stored and colder temperatures for prolonged periods of time without running the bike - or something along those lines. Last week, I...

    Cvt shaft replacement

See my reply in your duplicate post. Good luck!!

    Stripped shaft threads

Wow. How about for a simpler solution, take the shaft thread down one mm, and then source a corresponding (smaller diameter) nut?

Not sure about the ABS circuit, whether it also covers the rear. As I suggested in the other thread, I suggest that you get the Motoscan app and suitable OBD2 dongle. This way you can check for fault codes and even activate/bleed the ABS pump. Get the ultimate version (not expensive compared to...

    Manual

I bought my bootleg BMW service manual on DVD off Ebay a few years ago, for less than $30 - the nice thing is it covers all BMW motorcycle models through the year the DVD was produced. I've so far not seen any available on-line and BMW stopped selling them years ago since they don't want their...

    ABS

I've never noticed a sound from the pump during start up, like my Volvo cars do, some yards after each cold morning start. You can test the functioning by pulling an emergency stop when safe to do so, or you can run a scan for ABS pump fault codes using Motoscan.

    cam

Looks original, depending on how many miles and years the bike has done. You can tell it's on its way out if you hear the chain clattering, sometimes when the engine is still cold, sometimes more at random. If it is rattling all the time, STOP and change the tensioner. You will need a BMW tool...

Most likely ypu have a restriction 'upstream' from the calipers, as your explanation proves. The pistons are free, one can move the other, but both cannot move in at the same time because the fluid cannot escape the caliper. Undo the brake hose to caliper connection and I will bet that both...

Try removing the brake hose at the calipers and see if the pistons can then be pushed back. If so, your restriction is in the lines or, worse, the ABS pump.

The New Vision CE from BMW

In the video the C1 was consistently referred as a commercial flop. I considered buying one when I moved to Geneva, as they were available, but decided against it due to the low power to weight ratio. I did find it uber cool though.

CE-04 vs. 600 cc ICE Question.

My C650 Sport also has a ton of storage and I like the fact that it has pretty much unlimited range (so long as gas stations are around). So although I might not need to go somewhere far enough to cause EV range anxiety on most days, I just don't like the idea that I am not free to explore...

    Resetting the service timer

You still need a cable and compatible OBD dongle. However to be sure I would visit the Motoscan site and if needed send them your questions, before buying.

    Resetting the service timer

Probably (I know it works on my two BMWs, not sure it works on the C-EVOs) you can reset this service reminder with the Motoscan app and cable + OBD dongle.
