I'm not Bill but if they limit it to 80, that sucks. Mine is advertised to do 86 MPH and you can coax a little more. I really wish it would do at least 95. 105 is about perfect for me. That is what my Piaggio BV 500 would do and it was plenty of power for passing. I just don't pass anything...
I rode a dirt bike once and it was too tall for me. My feet did not touch the ground. I did not want to ride it but my friends dared me. So I did and I crashed it. Having both feet touch the ground is a comfort issue for me. I usually only have one foot on the ground but with very little or no...
Do you have a C 400gt or are you in the market. I already have the C 400gt. If I did not, I would probably buy the AK550 even though I don't think it looks quite as nice. I don't think its ugly. My number one interest it comfort! The AK550 has more power, its smoother, 2 cylinders, TPMS, the...
I looked at the Kymco CV3 when I was looking at the AK550. I realized they were similar. I was almost ready to get a three wheeler when I purchased the C 400gt. But I wanted to stay on 2 wheels as long as possible. One of these two may be my three wheel option if that time comes as they are...
I read most of the posts on this forum. I started looking at the Kymco AK550 after reading some posts. They have a premium version in Europe that has cruise control. And while I do not think it looks as good as the BMW, if they sold the premium here in the USA, I would give it a serious look and...
Search this forum for Service Resetting and you will find a link that shows you how to do it. I posted a devise that works and another member posted another devise that works. (Not all OBD readers work.) My recollection is that the devise and program cost about a $100.00 so I don't know how much...
My scooter also rattles and I believe it is the rollers my recollection is that the rollers always rattle a little in every scooter I have ever owned. I (almost) always wear ear plugs when I ride and don't hear the rattle at all. But when I forget to put the ear plugs in which iw rare it bothers...
I have lost bolts in the undercaridge of bikes before and have been very lucky finding them with one of those strong magnets on a wond. This is the one I have. (Wow that is a big link.)...
I also have a 2023 and ordered this fender. I was wondering if you ever determined what size spacer is needed to center it best? I know you ordered a couple different sizes.
The same thing happened to me. Put a battery in the fob that was in my house and got the same low battery message. Bought a new one at batteries plus and it worked fine. I also bought a spare incase it happens on a road trip. I need to check the shelf life on these batteries.
This is a feature that would be nice to have. I admire your tenacity and your willingness to figure this out and freely share the information. Thanks!
I check and adjust the air in my tires at the begginging of the riding season. Check and adjust again about midway into the season and that has...
@wspollack
Thanks! As always great write up of this modification! Even better in your picture gallery. I like this option and am considering it now that I know all the in's and out's it make's that desision so much easier.
Thought I would follow up on this.
I parked my scooter for several days after returning from my trip in the Ozarks where this Service Reminder occured. I went out to clean my scooter from the trip and thought I would try to remove this reminder so that I did not have to look at it for the next...
At 5000 miles on my scooter I got a service notice that says my scooter will need service in 2200 miles. I do not plan to do the service until it is time. So do I have to keep looking at that reminder until I reset it, or is there a way to turn it off temporarily?
I believe the Piaggio & Kymco 500 are swing arm machines? I owned 2009 Piaggio. It was a nice scooter. Very fast. It would go at least 105 mph. It was not as refined or as smooth as the BMW C400. Just got back from a 500 mile ride through the Ozarks, and really feel like this BMW is fast enough...
I like the looks and features of the new C400gt and if buying new today would likely opt for it over a 2024, however the only thing that would tempt me to upgrade from my 2023 would be more hoursepower (bigger displacement engine) and cruise control.
I like the adjustable windscreen. I wonder if that is compatible with the 2023 as I might add that mount if it is. I had this on my Indian Charger (electronic) and loved it.
Thanks for the feedback.
Yes, I was refering to the next size up rear tire on a stock rear rim. So instead of a 150/70 r14 using a 160/70 r14 or maybe a 150/75 r14. Kepping the rim the same size just adjusting the hight of the sidewall of the tire slightly. The speedometer calculator I posted...
I put the next size up tire on my Indian Challenge. I thought it improved the handling just a little and it made my speedometer dead on. I'm wondering if that can be done with the C 400gt?
