How'd you end up doing with this? I haven't seen any instructions, but feel like it should be workable by attacking every screw you can find with a set of torx wrenches.
I finally ordered and received the Leg Cover Termoscud® PRO (R233Pro) this week. It was more difficult than expected as I couldn't find a seller that would ship to the USA, but I eventually stumbled upon an Italian dealer selling them on eBay: https://www.ebay.com/str/storepogliani
Here are the...
That's great news @AustinChase !
I agree with @jorgebri60. My rule of thumb for packing a charger cable is to bring the cable if I absolutely have to charge to get through my day, and I'm not going to be around a city with multiple charging options. That said, I've never used my own charger...
TL;DR - You'll be fine. Depending on your exact speeds, you'll use up ~60% of the battery for the round trip.
The energy required to overcome wind resistance is cubic to velocity, so yeah, going 70 mph requires substantially more energy than 65mph. Similarly, 75mph requires a lot more than...
We made a day of going to the North Carolina Zoo in Asheboro, where I found my spirit animal, the Colorado River Toad. I had read about the psychotropic characteristics of this species as a teenager and soon referred to my peers as “toadblowers” for reasons I still don’t understand.
The next...
I went a little out of my way to check out Seagrove, the Pottery Capital of the United States. There are more working potters per capita here than anywhere else in the US. Every building in the town seemed to cater to pottery somehow.
Heading south down via Ether Rd & Okeewemee (meaning...
I've been battling some tendonitis problems in my hands, so it took a bit longer to get this follow-up out the door than anticipated. Enjoy!
The first river crossing was the Haw River, named after the native tribe that once occupied this area. The tribe disappeared through death and...
We repacked this morning. After making a proper packing list, the amount of stuff we're packing has ballooned significantly, including camping chairs, plates & other things. To my astonishment, it fits - albeit barely.
Here's our packing list:
One thing I've done differently this time is...
https://www.bmw-scooters.com/index.php?threads/ce-04-front-wheel-replacement-procedure.2924/ mentioned one other tire vendor I had not heard of: Anlas
They don't seem to be selling in the US yet, but they do offer a winter tire that fits in both the back and front of the CE 04...
Since winter is coming and/or here, has anyone found suitable winter tires for their CE-04? The USA typically forgoes winter tires, but as someone born in Sweden, I have a difficult time getting past this idea of not putting winter tires on every year.
While I haven't seen winter tires that fit...
I'm jealous! As far as I can tell, finding winter tires that fit the BMW CE-04 front wheel in the United States is impossible. I'm hoping someone will prove me wrong.
I haven't found any guidance, but I had my front tire replaced by a general motorcycle repair shop that has never seen a BMW...
Somehow my teenage daughter thinks I'm cool enough to go camping with her and her Girl Scout troop:
It's a 161-mile (260km) round trip, so I plan to charge twice in each direction and where we're camping. Here's how we're packed:
- Top case: my kid's motorcycle gear (she's going to ride...
You mean there is a second CE-04 owner in North Carolina? That's fantastic news! Welcome to the land of the crazy scooter people.
IMHO, the TeslaTap is a critical accessory for the CE-04. I've found that North Carolina is a surprisingly decent place to get around with a short-range EV (thanks...
I did the same thing when I got the bike. It seems like in the US, the CE-04 leaves the dealer at some god-awful slow setting (was it 6A? 10A? I don't remember).
It took FOREVER for me to get home from the dealer that first night. I didn't realize it had been handicapped until I arrived home.
If the warning bugs you, it’s trivially fixable if you are willing to throw money at the problem. It just requires a $85 Bluetooth ODB2 dongle and a phone app: https://www.bmw-scooters.com/index.php?threads/service-reminder-reset.2541/
IMHO, the battery lifespan concern has a basis in reality but is being amplified unnecessarily through FUD (Fear, Uncertainty, Doubt).
Similar Lithium Ion batteries in other electric vehicles have only shown a ~1% yearly degradation rate. It is always possible that BMW did a terrible job with...
Hey @ghostrider4 -
Charging is mostly easier than you are making it out to be: plug the J1772 cable into the bike & turn the bike off.
The only weird thing about the CE 04 is that it may come from the factory configured with a 10A charging limit. My guess is that BMW is afraid that someone's...
@Norway CE04 - my seat is doing the same thing. I found that the seat looks a little better if aggressively scrubbed with a sponge, but altogether I am not impressed.
