Wrapping up, sliders, variator, etc, 2nd gen

There are..as many ways of doing the sliders (weights) variator and clutch (springs) as could be discussed here... But They all _tend_ to favor the 1st Gen bikes... Is the basic wisdom that the 2nd gen resolved enough performance/reliability issues in these, that "upgrading" is less...

    Buying choices are narrowing down..

I have a local dealer (BMW Cycles San Jose) that worked hard enough to print out list+tax+800 delivery and prep and send me on my way... Calmoto has a new white 2018 that will be -$2k, and a used 2nd gen coming in, and there's a 11k mile old 2016 in socal at Del Amo motorsports for around $6k.

What are new GTs selling for around the US?

If I end up buying a new one, I want to negotiate from a solid position, not a lot of data that I can find (yet) on what actual prices are being met. What leverage is being seem to add items onto the bike post sale?

    Exhaust Mod?

There is legislation that actually protects you from this. Of course, you lose the emissions warranty, but not anything else.

WTB: Well optioned 2nd Gen 650 GT

I dont see a specific looking-to-buy a whole bike section...so...?? Im the market late March 2019, for a well optioned 2nd Gen GT. I could buy new if I had to..but..if I can avoid it, it would be nice.

    Looking at a 2013 650 GT

There seem to be too many other small refinements that I would like to take advantage of in a 2nd gen. Ill just have to be more patient than I usually am on things.

    Looking at a 2013 650 GT

Is pretty much fully optioned out 2013, 4k miles, bout $7k all in and taxes. What should I be asking about, it's at a dealer. I dont see _that_ much difference between 2013 and today, so i have no issues owning used. But are there issues I should be asking closely about? I have enjoyed the...
