    Newbie's headache - 2022 C400GT crank no start

Did the seller tell you anything about its condition? Sounds like no and you picked it up as a non-runner. Since you have both spark and fuel misting from the injector, it would seem that the ECU is functioning. Although that spark plug looks very dry in the photo? Then the three remaining...

Utter nonsense from my City planners - jus' for a laugh. I have replied as you might expect

If you've ever been to Hanoi, Vietnam, you know that motorcycles can cause MAJOR congestion:

    Cam chain tensioner

I decided to play it safe and get the BMW blocking tool that is referenced in the shop manual. Not expensive, especially when compared to catastrophic engine damage. You set the engine at a certain timing point, the blocking tool screws into a specific slot, and Bob's your uncle (remove old...

2020 C650GT cranks vigorously but no ignition

Maybe now a good time to purchase the app and related bluetooth dongle (OBDLink 427201 LX Bluetooth ScanTool) ... I hope (and it does sound like) it's something simple.

2020 C650GT cranks vigorously but no ignition

Not had or heard of this issue. If it were my bike I would connect my motoscan app and look for fault codes. Perhaps one of the switches, likely the sidestand one, has failed or the fuel pump died. Do you hear the typical 'whirring/buzz' when you first turn the ignition key on?

    Squeaky brakes.

Hmm - my post only makes sense if you have two calipers, which I don't think the CE-04 has?

    Squeaky brakes.

Was the front tire mounted properly? They are uni-directional most of the time, meaning an arrow has to point in the direction of travel. But some tire shops don't realize that a motocycle wheel can be 'spaced' differently left and right side. To put another way, a couple of months ago I had new...

C650 GT Too much as a first bike?

Just an example of a C650 with low miles at a seemingly good price, for sale on Craiglist here in LA

C650 GT Too much as a first bike?

Respectfully disagreeing with Mr Bill here. I've ridden various types of bikes, ranging from Honda CB and Husqvarna and Husaberg supermotos, to my current BMW K1600 and C650 Sport, and Honda 300 cc scooter. I absolutely love the C650, it is by far my favorite of all bikes so far. For me the...

    C650 Overheating

Thanks for your write-up, I expect no more cooling issues in the foreseeable future on your C650! My other BMW is a K1600 and they are also notorious for overheating due to the radiator becoming clogged with debris, that in order to remove requires removal of the entire radiator, because of how...

Red Warning light water temperature (HELP PLEASE)

From this thread, common causes are: - dirty radiator 》remove and clean (the outside) - thermostat faulty, not opening properly 》check and replace if needed - blown fan fuse 》check and replace if needed - fuse good but fan kaput 》replace fan, then verify it comes on when engine idles when temps...

    Woodruff Key (DIN 6888 3x3mm?) for Crankshaft-BMW C400X 2019

for example https://www.mcmaster.com/products/din-6888-machine-keys/ 25 keys for maybe $20. This is in the US where metric is just a bit less common than in Europe, should be easy to find where you are.

    BMW C400X 2019 - Crankshaft failure at 27k km - Anyone else?

Hmmm .. so apparently the woodruff key failed and that caused catastrophic engine damage. Pistons may be also damaged. Have you looked into sourcing a good used engine? Taking the broken one apart, you will need expensive BMW parts, seals, and not to mention the labor involved. A used engine...

    BMW C400X 2019 - Crankshaft failure at 27k km - Anyone else?

I would try and find a good used engine off a (dare I say this) crashed C400 and either wrench it in yourself or have an independent shop do it - no need for them to be BMW experts, any good motorcycle shop should be able to do this. Just make sure to swap over all the electronics so the 'brain'...

    C600 tuning tips

I doubt it's the belt. I'm no expert on tuning by a long shot (I feel the stock setup is more than fine) but having replaced my C650 belt after 30K kilometers, I found it had not worn hardly at all, I think it would have been fine for another 30K kilometers and for that reason I did not throw it...

    2015 C650 GT mirror vibration solution ?

On my C650 there is 0 vibration on the mirrors, actually my K1600 mirrors do vibrate and I got spoiled by the C650 so now I will have to investigate and see whether the 'K' mirrors are properly tightened down.

    Dropped my 650GT today.

Picture? I don't know what you mean by 'base 2 bolt connections'.

    Spring is in the air.

Your post makes me realize how double spoilt we are here in the warmer climates - we had 34 degrees celcius here last week, and I can ride year-round in t-shirt most of the time ... I think the C600-650, or any heavy displacement maxi scooter really, is the perfect motorcycle for gunning through...

    OIL CHANGE

That oil has a very odd color? Anyway, the one cause I can think of as to how water might get in, is condensation: i.e. high air humidity where the bike was stored and colder temperatures for prolonged periods of time without running the bike - or something along those lines. Last week, I...
