I've never noticed a sound from the pump during start up, like my Volvo cars do, some yards after each cold morning start. You can test the functioning by pulling an emergency stop when safe to do so, or you can run a scan for ABS pump fault codes using Motoscan.

Try removing the brake hose at the calipers and see if the pistons can then be pushed back. If so, your restriction is in the lines or, worse, the ABS pump.

Just FYI my previous tire set was Shinko: yes they were cheap but lasted only half of the original (Metzeler I believe) and were far less sticky and confidence-inspiring than my current Michelins. Am enjoying the bike far more with the Michelins in the canyons around our house.

Check old threads, someone posted how they managed to save an engine whose timing chain had slipped causing as I recall a no start no compression like yours, simply by re-timing the engine - no permanent damage in his case. You might get lucky. Such a low mileage bike too!

I got Michelins for my C650 a few months ago at Cycle Gear, was no problem finding the correct size at all. GREAT tires! But, if your old tire still has good tread left, I would just plug it (may require two or three plugs if the hole is that big).
