Running out of gas? Handy GT tip ....

How did you track gas mileage? Dashboard display? Record pump display and odometer at fill-ups? GPS app?

Are any of the C650GT fuses switched?

I'm installing a Denali Powerhub II, which requires a switched power lead. Rather than cut into a wire, I'd like to use a fuse tap.

Parking brake activated while I was riding!

No. Just going back to old BMW lever with snapped tip for the time being. Interesting that the BMW shop did not spot the problem with the cheap lever dragging the front brake until they test-drove and locked it up themselves. I'm very happy to learn that there is no safety issue with the...

Parking brake activated while I was riding!

It wasn't the parking brake at all. When I got the bike in 2020, I tried putting it on the centerstand while the kickstand was down (which is impossible because of the parking brake). Predictably, the bike flopped onto its right side, and the tip of the right brake lever snapped off. The lever...

Parking brake activated while I was riding!

I was driving 45 MPH on my 2020 C650GT when the power sagged and the engine began to labor. I pulled over and found that the parking brake activated with the kickstand up. Fortunately, the rear wheel didn't lock up while I was riding. I am pretty certain that nothing on the road surface hit any...

    Horn rep

Horn replacement is an interesting issue. I've never been in a situation on my C650GT where I really felt I needed a louder horn, but it's always tempting. There's sadly very little data on the loudness of various candidates as installed and wired on the bike. There also is little good data on...

Will the Bmw c650 gt scotter be continued?

Exposed chain, small underseat storage, non-adjustable windscreen, no cruise control. Might or might not handle better than the C6xxx. DCT is nice for people who want a paddle shifter; I had it on my late Burgman 650, and detested it.

Running out of gas? Handy GT tip ....

What is the greatest number of miles you have ridden on reserve, and how much gas did it take to refill? I've gone at least 26 miles followed by a 3.3 gallon fill.

How do you lift a C650GT onto the centerstand?

When I have time, I'm going to find out how much work is required to disable the connection between sidestand and parking brake.

BMW dropping the C650 in the USA ?

I'm using this one on my C650GT. Same idea, but 10% of the price. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08GQVQ7P2

BMW dropping the C650 in the USA ?

How is it that you know 2020 is the last year? If you have a source at BMW Motorrad I have some other questions I'd like to ask them. BTW, Cycle Trader lists 6 new 2020 C650GT for sale in the USA...

BMW dropping the C650 in the USA ?

I wouldn't base any decision of this magnitude on "I just heard". A quick Web search yields no real information. The rumor appears and is discussed, with the same total lack of facts, at https://advrider.com/f/threads/bmw-c650-gt-in-2021.1471858/

    Cold starting

If the bike is not being run for many weeks, I'd consider adding fuel stabilizer to the gasoline. If it's possible to buy gasoline with no ethanol, that would also be a good idea when the bike is unused for many weeks.

    Gas Can for emergency...

My wife's bike ran dry as we were crossing the Navajo reservation near Mesa Verde in 1977. (It was my fault-- long story.) The gas in the 1L bottle for our SIGG stove was enough to get us to the next gas station. It hasn't happened since then. I don't know that I'd carry spare gas for such a...

BMW C650GT bark busters, hand protectors weather protection

I use https://www.tucanourbano.com/en/pp/motorcycle-handgrips-black-r333-65824 on my C650GT. They are very easy to install and remove, and they do an excellent job of protecting the hands. I've used a variety of brands and styles of hand muffs over 50 years, and I like these the best.

    Master Wiring Diagram??

Thanks. Now it makes sense. Turning the voltage on or off creates a momentary AC, which shows as a blip on an inductive pickup. IMHO it's worth the money to get a signal injector and pickup, because this should work with switched and unswitched circuits, and because it doesn't require 3 hands...

    Master Wiring Diagram??

Exactly what meter do you use, please? I don't understand how an instrument could read constant DC inductively. Do you mean that your inductive meter blips at the moment you turn the voltage on or turn the voltage off?
