Work stand - how to support the front end to remove front wheel?

I have a front lift for my GS, I'll try to use that to remove the front wheel in conjunction with the center stand. But if that doesn't work out, I suppose the scissor lift is probably not a bad option. Especially if you place an OSB board or similar between the lift and the bike to spread out...

Removing/replacing CE 04 heated comfort seat?

I think you have the "short" comfort seat. Looks exactly like mine.

    Stock charger amperage?

I'm new to this whole electric vehicle stuff, I admit, but I'm trying hard not to do an extra stop and having to kill time just for charging ;-) But L2 chargers are not that plentiful around here, mostly at hotels and some car dealerships. But yes, half an hour @240V/30A would get me half a...

    Stock charger amperage?

I can go up to AFAIK 30A, but again, the BMW charger will only deliver 10 max. I'll see if the 12A charger I have incoming will do the advertised 12. But it's clear that the CE04 was made for use in Europe, with 240V mains the 10A charge twice as fast as over here with 120V. Meaning the...

    Security Device

I'd probably chain it to a light pole. If someone really wants your bike, they'll get it. That's what insurance is for.

    Stock charger amperage?

That is not surprising. I suppose you can't even set the amperage on the bike higher than 10A (not sure if the software is smart enough for that, though)?

Torque values for wheels and brake calipers.

That's because it's not in there. Which is really disappointing. They have other technical data in there, but all of that is pretty useless (unless I really need to know the brake disc diameter, but what would I need that for?). The manual for my 1250GS is much better, torques are in there for...

    Stock charger amperage?

I have the quick charger and I have set the bike to charge at 12A. Still charges with only 10A from the BMW charger. I'll see what the aftermarket one I have incoming does (or try a public Level 2, which should be able to go up to 240V/30A).

Removing/replacing CE 04 heated comfort seat?

It seems the "backrest seat II" is only available via dealers in Europe. Hmm, I wonder what the tariffs will make of that. Can anyone confirm that this seat has the heater? Should be part #52538552187 (#5 on the picture for the black/grey version).

    Stock charger amperage?

Just curious if someone from the US can confirm: I currently use the stock charger on a 120V outlet, and it seems that is capped at 10A, resulting in a 1.2kW charge. I mean, that's enough to get it back to full overnight, I was just wondering since most aftermarket single-phase 120V chargers...

Removing/replacing CE 04 heated comfort seat?

"recommended for very tall riders"....I dunno. I'm only 6'0" (184cm). I'll need to see if the riding position changes when I mount the windshield, it actually may... Another idea would be a proper backrest for the rider, but I doubt that's possible.

Removing/replacing CE 04 heated comfort seat?

I'm thinking about that, too. I've only ridden my CE04 once so far, but I feel that I need to sit exactly on the hump, which is obviously not very comfortable. I really don't know what they were thinking when they designed that seat, I don't even want to know what the regular seat would feel...

    Taillight Protectors Options in 2026

I saw this on FB. They have the right idea, but 85 EUR for two bent pieces of painted flat steel stock? I don't think so...

    Yes, looks very similar ;-)

    Commuter gear?

https://www.motoport.com/ I've reached out to them but haven't heard back. In the meantime I went with a set of AA/Level 2 rated RevIt gear, that should arrive tomorrow or so. I thought about the Klim Marrakesh, but was put off a little by the lack of a connection zipper. I think that's an...

    Commuter gear?

Not really. There is a company in San Diego that makes custom-fit onesies and combos from mesh that are supposed to be good. But a) expensive and b) probably has a long lead time. I bought some reasonable Level 2/AA gear from RevIt, I'll see how well that works for commuting. If I can't take the...

    Shad top case size??

Interesting, since their website says different. I've messaged them about that a few days ago, too, but haven't heard back.

    Shad top case size??

Thanks! My idea is that I want to fit the helmet as well as jacket and pants in there. Sure, there's the under-seat storage, but I'll likely use that for an emergency charger cable and such. So a TR41 is probably not large enough. I'll likely go with the Wunderlich generic luggage rack (that...

    Shad top case size??

Reviving this thread since I'm currently looking at a Shad topcase for the CE-04. Their homepage says for the CE-04 mount: Which is a bummer since I'm not so much a fan of the rounded designs and would rather have a Terra case. Does anyone know if the Terra cases (say, a TR48 or 55) fits on the...

    Commuter gear?

Sure, there is one, but have you ever changed in a bathroom, especially on a regular basis? Without knowing how clean the floor really is? Not really an option, but I think I could do with a mesh jacket/pants over work clothes which I could take off in the parking lot. If the pants have an ankle...
