    Broken Tail Light

One thing's for sure. This thread proves not everyone buys the CE-04 because they care about aesthetics.

CE-04 For Sale - Heads up

Happen to run across this CE-04 demo bike with 482 miles on it (it's in England). See https://www.pidcock.com/used-bikes/bmw/ce-04/136494.htm

    How Long Did You Wait?

I was extremely lucky. I was 6th on the waiting list and Utah was only getting 2 scooters for the whole state. Thankfully, the first 5 guys either didn't answer back to the dealer or decided they didn't want it after all. So, that made me 1st in line to choose between either the white or the...

    CE-04 Costs Too Much?

After seeing this, I no longer feel I paid too much for my scooter. See Trek Fuel EXe 9.9 XX1 AXS

First ride with a turtle on the dashboard (below freezing)

I can't believe you'd spend that much on a scooter and not let it sleep with you in the bedroom!

Added orange windshield....and cool wheel decals

Clear or orange, it's still useless. Swapped my clear one out for the OEM tall screen that actually does something - like block the wind.

    Clear windshield in US..?

I was told by my dealer that it's due to "visibility" regulations, which is stupid because no one can actually look through it even if they wanted. It can't possibly obstruct driver vision.

    Max speed governed at 80MPH

I would be very careful about bypassing anything on a BMW motorcycle. I have a good relationship with the local dealer and I was chatting with him one day about finding a way to activate a feature and he cautioned me against that. He told me about a guy with 2 S1000RR M bikes, and a local speed...

    High Windscreen - Finally!

Finally! My high windscreen is here. What a journey. I ordered it 2 months ago, telling the parts guy to order me the windscreen AND any necessary mounting parts. The mounting bracket got to the dealer within days (shipped from California). The windscreen was shipped from Europe and, kid you...

Phone mount - will this hold?

Personally, I wouldn't glue/screw a mount to that surface and ruin the resale value. I mounted my radar detector to the mirror stem, using this Ram mount . You can see my installation here

    Grip Puppies Caveat

Just as a heads-up, if you put Grip Puppies on your scooter, measure the length needed on the throttle side (so the end cap isn't covered) and shorten one of the grips to that size before installing them. If you don't, you'll end up with an unwanted poor man's cruise control. I didn't do that...

    Parts Ordering Advice

I ordered my high windscreen from my local Motorrad dealer about a month ago. Still not here. I was told that the morons in Germany send part orders to the USA by boat, which is why it's taking so long. My advice, if you want any parts fast ... order them from a European website and pay the...

    Pre-warm Seat and Grips

Actually, it's not a standard cigarette lighter outlet, which is why I had to buy a BMW 12v adapter that converts my radar detector's cigarette lighter male plugin to the smaller BMW 12v female outlet, which is known as a DIN Hella outlet.

    Fantastic Tracker - Monimoto 7

The problem with the Apple air tag is that it depends on the stolen bike being in a fairly public place where people with iPhones are passing by and they have "find my network" turned on. Per Apple, "Your AirTag sends out a secure Bluetooth signal that can be detected by nearby devices in the...

    Pre-warm Seat and Grips

There is no 2016 model of the CE-04. So, not sure we're on the same page. On this model, it doesn't warm up as fast - probably because I have the comfort seat which has more padding, and I also put grip puppies on which probably has some warming delay for the grips.

    Pre-warm Seat and Grips

So, 1st world problem here. We'll be getting into cold weather riding soon. In fact, I've already had a morning ride at 50°F and that was pretty brisk; so I turned on the heated grips and seat, but it takes about 1/3 of my commute to get them heated to a point that they are actually of any...

    Testing New Alarm

Unfortunately, you probably won't be able to install it yourself as you would need both the device to hook into the bike's computer as well as the codes to activate the alarm feature on the TFT screen. It kind of pisses me off that I had to pay $450 for the alarm and another $250 to the BMW...

    BMW Recall on Certain CE-04s

Had my recall work done today. From what they said, it's just a better bracket that they put in.

    Testing New Alarm

Just had my alarm installed today and decided to test it out for myself. Here's a very sloppily done video (because I had to do double duty and hold the camera and do the demo). The guy I'm talking to in the middle was someone walking up about to step on my fob that I laid on the ground to put...

Primary battery vs USB vs 12v

I have my radar detector plugged into the 12v all the time that I'm riding. I don't see any other option. So far, so good. Isn't the 12v meant to be plugged into by your heated riding gear? If so, how can it not be designed to be plugged into long term - as much as 80 miles can be deemed long term?
