To Bob66 and others-
Here are the results of my long term storage experiment. My CE 04 was stored beginning May 8, 2024. SOC for the traction battery was 45%. Optimate Canbus charger plugged into the accessory outlet to manage the 12V battery. Scooter taken out of storage on October 28, 2024...
Welcome Johnt.
My CE 04 is garaged in Tucson, AZ, so I don't have a great sense of the Ontario market. A quick inquiry to ChatGPT provided the answer below. Hope one or more of these are viable for you.

Vinnie- glad you got that sorted. You can attach a pigtail to your battery terminals that would allow you to charge your 12V battery while still attached to the scooter. Don't use a charger greater than 1.25 amps. You could also purchase a canbus compatible charger like those from Optimate that...
Glad you sorted it Mitleider.
Many CE 04 owners don't know that there is a T-25 Torx wrench positioned behind the fairing panel above the headlight. That wrench allows you (wherever you are) to get the right rear body panel off the scooter and access the 12V battery terminals without entering a...
Hi. I use my CE-04 routinely for trips in the neighborhood of 10-25 miles round trip.
To maximize battery longevity, I try to limit my SOC for charging to 80%, unless I need more capacity for a longer journey.
BMW does not allow a user selectable upper limit for charging sessions. I set a...
Bob66- many thanks for your additional thoughts. Your advice makes good sense to me....I'll take it into consideration!
Similar to your approach, I have my supplied BMW traction battery charger plugged into a Kasa brand smart outlet. I can control the outlet remotely, schedule any duration of...
Bob66- Thank you for your thoughtful replies. I have been thinking along the same lines as you until I watched this Engineering Explained video that discussed optimum storage conditions for a Li-ion NMC battery pack
In my situation, the temps in my garage will exceed 25 degrees C....and could...
Tom: The accessory socket will not take more than 5 amps. Your 7.7 amp draw jacket caused the CANBUS to take the socket offline. If you try again with a vest or gloves that use 5 amps or less, I'll bet it will work.
Hi. Wondering if anyone has experience using one of the Optimate CANBUS-compatible 12V trickle chargers through the CE 04 accessory outlet. My scooter will be garaged in Arizona for several months this summer while I'm not there. Advice I am getting for traction battery longevity is to leave it...
Thanks everybody for all of the advice. I've only had my CE 04 for a few weeks. I'm planning to keep the T25 driver and 8mm socket driver handy if I ever need to get to the 12V battery (including battery cable connections) when I'm out with the scooter.
If the 12V battery was totally flat...
