Hi guys,
My timing chain tensioner has gone bad, I have 13,500 miles on the bike. Dealership doesn’t have a slot for the next two months.
Has someone replaced this part and able to send me a guide and what parts I need. Bike is 2016, I guess I will need the mechanical tensioner.
Thank you,
Ben
Hi, im having an issue with the tensioner. Did you replace it by yourself? I would like to do it myself but have no experience whatsoever. Hopefully someone here will help:)
Thanks, Ben
Not able to post audio or video here. I’m 100% sure it’s the tensioner. I will try to replace it myself as the dealership doesn’t have a slot in the next two months:( and im a bit scare to ride it like this.
Hi guys,
Recently I started having a weird chain noise. When it’s cold outside the motor works fine for the first couple of minutes and then the noise starts. After 15-20 min riding when I stop it disappears and then on taking off starts again. Took it to the dealership and they said it’s...
I did it in NJ Cross country BMW. Yeah, I know Rodney very well:)) I used to go there for the past 5 years. First time went to Nj as the quote they gave me was half price. Much better experience. I’ll go back this week and ask them to test drive and see if that’s normal. I think I just don’t...
Thanks for your input guys!
Yeah I was happy with the stock rollers performance too and I don’t know why I purchased the dr pulley ones:) I’m not an aggressive rider at all and this bothers me now. You can definitely feel the power but riding slow from 20-40mph is terrible. Feels like you are...
In case they are correct, does the variator position matter? I’ve seen a video where when they replace it they mark it with a line. Maybe something out of sync?? … I suspect they did something wrong as this is a BMW dealership but who knows.
Yes, definitely. Bike is much louder as it works on higher rpm and it feels like it works harder. It’s much faster though except for the short lag at start.
Wow, hope you had a nice ride. As I mentioned I did the 12k service today and replaced the belt with Malossi and dr Pulley rollers and sliders. I’ve read all great reviews and when I took the bike I was shocked. I don’t know what could be the problem. When I rev up from 0 it has a little bit of...
Hi, just wanted to ask if you installed by yourself? I was wondering if mistake can be done as I had a dealer install mine today, 28gr and the rpm is too high. Around 5k rpm all the time. Even on high speed 60-70mph. Also the clutch disengage at 15mph.
Thanks, Ben
Lol, yes. Hopefully I’ll go back to nice and quiet ride. I thought and as I read here people were saying that acceleration is better but you get lower rpm at higher speeds which is not the situation in my case. And as I did the service at a BMW dealership I don’t think they did something...
Thanks for your reply.
So it seems normal. I think I’ll go back and replace with the oem ones. New rollers new sliders and again 200$ labor:(
Yes it’s definitely faster now but it’s working hard all the time and the engine sound is different.
I don’t know if there is a way to only adjust the...
Hi guys,
Pretty old tread but I just replaced the rollers and sliders on my BMW c650gt with 28gr Dr Pulley and I’m not happy with it. There is some lag at start which doesn’t bother me much but the rpm is super high at all times. Around 5-6k rpm, when accelerating and also on high speed around...
Hi guys,
Couple of days ago I noticed some oil drops on the bottom of the kickstand. The part that touches the ground. Everything else looks fine. There are no leaks when I park the bike. The kickstand arm is fine just the bottom triangle messes up the floor.
Has someone had any issues like...
Still didn't go for a second opinion. They want me to leave the bike again for who know how many days.
New problem:)
The white spring in the middle started peeling... Has anyone experienced this??
Did some tests this weekend. When I ride between 20-30mph especially downhill, the transmission...
Thanks Jamie
I was planning to go to NJ Cross Country BMW I think was the name, for a second opinion.
I might go to Gold coast since you`ve had a good experience with them for a long time.
Thanks for your reply Snowdog.
I have 1050 miles so far.
I use 89 octane fuel, usually from BP. I`ve tried 91 once without any difference.
Yes I already use Seafoam, the last two fill ups. I haven`t noticed any improvement though.
I think I`m getting the same vibes with wheel off or on the...
