27th Annual Charter Oak Rally

As Jaime said he was the only scooter, the first 2 years I went to the finger Lakes rally I was the only scooter and last year there were 3 including Jaime (for half the weekend). myself and 1 other (3 gt's total). Let's see how many at the national in July

I took a long weekend and went to Maine , did about 800 miles over 4 days and didn't see any other notchers. A few 50cc scooters, 80% v twins,
10% BMW's, 10% other. The past couple of years it seems like the BMW's don't come out until September.

I didn't say I was the smallest bike... just the only scooter. There were three or four Suzuki VStrom 650s on hand and they look tiny next to the C650GT.

Speaking of big scooters, I never see any Burgman's around here. The only experience I have with them is a few years ago when I was comparing the Burgman 650 to the BMW C bikes, but they seem like pretty doggone good scooters and there a bunch of 'em around somewhere.

Unfortunately, it wasn't running but I did get to ride my favorite wooden roller coaster Boulder Dash. It's gotten rougher in its old age (as most wooden roller coasters do), but it is still a rush. I love Lake Compounce. It's not as big as Six Flags but it does have some nice rides AND two years ago they instituted a policy of free soft drinks throughout the park. That came in handy as it was in the nineties on Saturday when I was there.

Based on the attendance this year, I'd be VERY surprised if the club holds the rally again next year. Very sad... this used to be a GREAT rally, and I can remember over 500 people in attendance. The old crowd is dying off, and the youngsters aren't into organized motorcycling events...

I got to Lake Compounce and that new coaster WAS running this year. Short, but VERY intense ride!
